Bulls vs Hornets @ UC GT: 7pm

Post#1 » by bearadonisdna » Mon Nov 29, 2021 3:48 pm

Admin willing I’d like to make the GT today .
We’ve had a losing week so It would be nice to right the ship . Gonna put together a fairly reasonable game plan to the game. Lately my GTs seem to have a clarifying effect on the team . The end effect being seeing the team with no makeup on . In my opinion this is practically the 1. The one I want to bring home to my parents hopefully papa Donovan don’t kick me out the door.

The hornets: under the radar they lost to the rockets their last game . Takes some of the salt off our rockets loss.

Vuc > Pj Washington
Green < Bridges
Derozan > Hayward

1. Lonzo < Lamelo
2. LaVine > Rozier

Here the bulls win 3 out of 5 positions . If hornets flip flop their guards shouldnt hurt us . Lonzo could have an outside shot at outmatching Rozier straight up but I can’t give him that on paper given rozier scored 31 his last game .

——————-
1st half minute rotation :

Vuc-18 Bradley-6
Green-12 DJJ -12
Derozan-18 Brown -6

1. Lonzo -18 Cobe-6
2. Zach -18 Caruso -6

Number 1 option is Zach.
We have a big 3 with an elite pointguard . This is a team we should beat . Browns minutes can be supplemented by Green or DJj. But I’m comfortable with Brown in limited minutes the kid can play.
At half time I will post my 2nd half rotation that I feel should be pretty similar to the 1st half .

Guys I’m playing fantasy basketball , I just watched 3 games yesterday . Am not coming in here like an oblivious rookie .

Battle of the micro ball teams, who will win? I'm not sure who is their center, but no starter is bigger than 6' 7".

Rozier has been better than Lavine lately (31, 15, 27, 32) including an 8-11 from 3 point range game so this will be interesting.
Another player to watch is Oubre, because the Bulls like to let bench gunners kill us (23, 27, 21 last 3 games). I don't know why we like to let guys like Korkmaz & Gabe Vincent shoot away, but Oubre can get hot.
This will be an interesting test of the defense, the Hornets are pretty hot offensively.

And as usual, I expect Lamelo to throw lobs for alley oop dunks all game because we have no verticality at the rim except for those 15 minutes DJ plays.

Going to need Lavine & Vuc to play like all-stars. Our 2 all-stars haven't been great, it's been the rest of the team carrying the load. Would be nice to see strong games from both.

My keys to the Bulls winning:

1) Make our 3's at 37%+
2) Limit our TO's to 14 or less
3) Win the RB battle

I feel good about this game. This is one we should be ready for and is a must win IMHO.

Was debating about going to this game and getting group tickets to it instead of the game in Jan, but couldn't organize fast enough. It will be fun to see the Ball brothers go at it.

Without knowing for sure, I would guess that Lonzo can defend LaMelo excellently. The more you defend someone the more you know their moves explicitly, stands to reason he's got a lot more experience defending LaMelo than anyone else in the league

Bulls usually bounce back well after a loss. Vegas feels the same heavily favoring the Bulls currently at -6. Feeling good about this one.

Better number 1 option? Zach or vuc ?
Part of me leaning vuc and try doing what Indy did to us and really punish us for trying to play small

The micro ball stuff is really what has irked me a bit lately .
Look at the microball twin also losing to the rockets .

Based on some recent discussion , the micro ball stuff is part of what is considered the worst aesthetics of nba history . Pretty much morey ball rocket stuff .

Also I read on the GB that the bulls must positive lineup features tony Bradley so it doesn’t really apply to us as far as being effective

LaVar in town yesterday to promote this game he calls-

"The Face Off"

Image

....drew a line down the street — with wait times exceeding an hour to meet the father of the Bulls point guard.

Ball is trying to bring that family connectivity to the Bulls. He said he met with the team’s executive vice president of basketball operations and lobbied him to “get all three of” his sons: Lonzo, LiAngelo and LaMelo.

https://blockclubchicago.org/2021/11/29/lavar-ball-visits-chicago-and-says-hes-trying-to-bring-all-his-sons-to-the-bulls-together-theyre-great/?utm_source=Pico&utm_campaign=713c8ff327-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2021_11_29_02_04_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_b6b84a5cee-713c8ff327-126905014&mc_cid=713c8ff327&mc_eid=9a19efb2f9

He better be sitting courtside-

I told my kid a few years ago when the LaVarr hate was strong - I said the guy may be a bit over the top - but he is a positive male role model for his sons and his hard work is paying off. Like I remember Kap trying to railroad him on a radio interview. Total Fail on Kap. LaVarr is genuine hard working guy doing it his way and dong a pretty good job of it.

This should be more exciting than Seahawks vs the WFT

I feel like LaMelo has a HUGE game. I haven't seen him a lot so this is just a guess.....

The Bulls' most positive lineups with more than 24 minutes played are all of the form:

Caruso
Ball
LaVine
DeRozan
Somebody

where the Somebody is either Vuc, Bradley, or Javonte. Which makes sense because those four are the clear best players on the team.

If that somebody is Djj, which is their backup center , and easily a lineup we can expect of late, it would happen to be 1 of their worst -17.5

This is in 30 minutes played . That’s no good , it sticks out like a sore thumb . Most of the bulls lineups are positive because of the overlying talent. This is kind of lineup is self defeating and I wonder why even put it on the court .

Damnit. Hope Zach’s not too sick. DDR and Vuc will have to pick up the scoring load then.

Wow this guy already started his bs. Why would AK even meet with him? If he actually listens to Lavar and signs other son who isn’t NBA material then I will lose respect for AK. Since when does Lavar Ball call the shots and have requests for the Bulls? Really hope AK just told him to fk off.
