Does Vuc make the allstar team?

Most of us here probably know that he has not been playing like an all star for most of this season. However, when you take a look at his stats, outside of his poor shooting percentages it really doesn’t look that bad.

Seeing that he has only played 15 games this year its reasonable that he can get his percentages up to a respectable mark and all of a sudden he isn’t looking so bad.

14.5 PPG (42.1% FG & 33.3% 3FG)
11.2 RPG
4.1 APG (Career high)
1.1 BPG
1.1 SPG

Right now the answer is: . . . . lol no.

If he plays most of the way to the all star game like last night, then we can talk.

No chance.

I like Vuc, but there's no way we're gonna have 3 all stars. If we have 2 or 1, DDR and Lavine are surely ahead of him.

Also, playing center in the east we have Embid, Bam, Turner and Sabonis, who are having better seasons than him statistically.

Do they still take 12 from east and 12 from west? or is it top 24? I know they pick the teams with captains now, but is the roster still made up evenly from both conference?

It'll be hard to have 3 players producing at an all star level on a team. For Vooch to get to that level, he needs to get his normal scoring touches which mainly consist of post-ups in the low post. He'll get those a couple times a game and sometimes more depending on the match-up, but it's just not gonna be the number that he was getting regularly in Orlando.

Vooch is averaging 6 fewer shots a game now compared to last year when he made the all star team. But right now the team is winning with Zach and DeMar cooking (and those two are definite all stars IMO), so I see no reason why they'd change things up just so Vooch can get his numbers.

If he can improve his efficiency the rest of the way with the same looks he's been getting, maybe up his PPG to around 18/19, and the Bulls continue to win, he might have a case.

Im sure they'll only give us 2

Besides, Vuc would have to play out of his MIND to become at all-star at this point.

Hell, I think AC might have a better chance, especially with his cult Chicago/LA fanbase

My hope is two all-stars, Derozan & Lavine, and at the end of the year two All-NBA defense team members Lonzo & Caruso. Simmons & Kawhi not playing opens up 2 perimeter slots on the All-Defense teams.

If he plays like he did last night for the next 20 games he has a chance. But at this juncture, the Bulls all stars are Derozan and Lavine.

If he plays like last night for the next 20 games we can talk about him for MVP.

But if he plays to his previous best year for the next 20 games, I think he still probably did too much damage in the first 15 or so to overcome it.

Probably not. Unless somehow the Bulls become NBA darlings for a while (which has started to happen a little) and Vuc is a big part of our success during that time. IMO, Ball is probably going to get more votes, and in Chicago, Caruso may get more votes than either of them.

When does the all-star voting start??? I thought it usually starts around 2nd week of November?

I hightly doubt Vuc would make it. Right now, Demar and Lavine are locks to make it. I hope to see Lonzo in Skills challenge though.

He would have to significantly improve his efficiency and get his PPG up to 17-20. That's an ideal and unlikely situation, and even then we're good but not good enough to have 3 all-stars and he's a distant third in the pecking order behind Zach and DeMar who are basically locks for the ASG.

I put his chance at slightly above zero. First, he must play much better. Second, even if he does play better, either Zach or DeMar need to get injured/fall off a cliff, because if not they will be selected over Vuc, and the Bulls won't be placing 3 guys on the All Star team.

I give it a slight chance, knowing many of the voters just go with names they recognise and they'll recognise his (given the history).

Should he be? No.

Absolutely no chance.

Although I don't mind the way he is playing overall if he can get those shooting %'s back to his career average. All this team needs is 18/12/4 on 50/35/80 with solid rim protection. He just needs to get a couple of shots extra to fall per game, the amount and type of shots he is taking is completely fine.

I certainly hope that the league doesn’t give all star selections based on reputation as there should be a lot of new teams and new allstars.

Let’s assume the standings bear out and all player stats remain the same aside from Vucevic having a rejuvenating December and January (2 massive assumptions)

Based on poor teams not getting any, we can assume Detroit, Indy, Toronto, and Orlando won’t get any.

Boston’s Tatum and Brown have been poor and will split some votes as the 10 seed, they SHOULDNT get in.

Playoff teams guys that are deserving IMO.

Durant
Harden
Lavine
Derozen
Butler
Bam
Harrell (Yes, don’t argue)
Giannis
Trae
LaMelo
Allen (Yes, don’t argue)

Those 11 are locks IMO, and 1 spot left for the following (some of these guys are reputation, haven’t played well this year)

Randle
Rejuvenated Vucevic
Herro
Embiid (only played 11 games)
Harris
Beal
Brown
Tatum

Seems really, really unlikely. Especially seeing the center position stacked this year.

Right now, no chance. The only way that changes is:

1.) If the Bulls have the best record heading into the break.
2.) Vuc has a month or two of averaging a solid 20 points.

More than likely DDR and LaVine make it, and that's that.

I said no. I don’t think 3 mostly one sided offensive teammates can make the same all star team, except for outrageous circumstances. Normally when there is a trio, at least one guy needs to be a defensive stud. Like draymond green, Ben Simmons, Dennis Rodman, etc. it’s the only way to get the necessary stats to sway voters
