I wonder if Memphis is going to go into the tax. Ja and JJJ are obviously the cornerstones, but will they be able to afford to keep Bane, Brooks, Clarke when they're up? Memphis has so much depth they can afford to lose a few guys, but Bane, Brooks and Clarke will be interesting to see if Memphis decides to pay them as well along with Ja and JJJ.

Is JJJ a cornerstone though? 4 years into his career, and he's only averaging 16/6, and playing only 27 mpg. The last two years he's shot around 42% and 30% on 3's. That doesn't seem like a player you'd want to give a max contract to.

JJJ signed an extension that runs through 2025-26 (when he'll be 26 years old). He'll be paid 28, 27,25 and 23 million per year.

That's a lot of money for pretty pedestrian production. Lauri gives you about the same production, although his defense is not in the same league. But he shoots better.

A 22-year-old two way player who led the league in blocks, can switch on everything and defend in space on the perimeter, and just gave you 19 a game in the playoffs after Ja got hurt and was great defensively on Towns in the 1st round. Of course he's a cornerstone and a max guy, especially if he improves his shot selection like he should with age and becomes more efficient offensively and less 3 point happy.

Pedestrian production? Lol why do you think Memphis was such an elite defensive team? A 22-year-old All Defensive 1st team anchor who can block shots and defend the perimeter as well really helps. His rebounding could improve, but by age 25 JJJ will be a 20-8 guy who is probably winning Defensive player of the year awards. That's exactly who you want beside Ja.

Elite defensive team? They gave up 109.9 ppg which is 12th in the NBA.

Boston wins the 3 point battle, Boston winning the game. That's how it goes in today's NBA.

Memphis was tied for 5th in Defensive Rating. Points per game is more pace related.

Do the Bucks have one good run left in them?

Feels like they have already lost. Middleton out cost them.

Geez...seems like all these remaining playoff teams either have a starter or a bench guy like Grant Williams that can get hot from downtown. Hopefully the Bulls will get this type of firepower next season with good health.

Love watching the Bucks get frustrated.

1 quarter away from not having to watch Giannis bully his way to the hoop and pretend it’s elite skilled offense. Almost as lame as Hardens elite flopping tactics in Houston.

JVG and Jackson rooting for the Bucks. Dudes sound beaten at the end of the 3rd.

Bucks couldn’t take advantage of Derrick White playing center. They just keep taking jumpshots or turning the ball over (they’re actually calling it in Giannis!).

Its sort of proof that you need a bunch of 3pt shooting in the playoffs. Anomalies don't happen with someone just shooting 2s. It happens with some random guy going crazy from 3.

Grant Williams is actually 7-16 from 3 That might take us 3 players to even attempted that many.

But again this is an anomaly.

As observed in our series, bucks allow a lot of 3s. Celtics are making them.
