NBA Trade Thread # 6

Post#1 » by MalagaBulls » Tue Feb 22, 2022 7:24 pm

Well, # 5 is getting close to 2K posts and the time will be coming up to start kicking around even more of the off season possibilities.
For the sake of starting this thread this absurd idea is the only thing I could find that would be a potentially divisive trade. Most would say "Hell Nah!!".
It centers around the desperate Lakers dumping AD for this hypothetical package:

Bulls in: AD
Bulls out: DDR, PWill, FRP

Lakers in: DDR, PWill, FRP
Lakers out: AD

That’s a terrible idea. Why would we want to down grade? Like you said “Hell, Nah!”

It would be worth considering if AD could stay healthy. But if AD could stay healthy, he'd cost more than that.

Just hoping Coby and Vuc up their trade value enough to make something like Coby, Pat, Vuc, Our 1st and POR 1st for AD, something that LA would consider.

Vuc would have the be the centerpiece, Demar is nonsense.

Probably 2 sweeteners and that’s it. Bulls would be in the position of power here, they don’t need to make a deal.

Problem is the Lakers don’t want young pieces like Pat. So It would have to be a 3 team deal with maybe Detroit.

Bulls get AD
Bulls send Vuc/Pat/Coby

Lakers send AD/THT
Lakers get Vuc/Grant/Coby

Detroit sends Grant
Detroit gets Pat/THT

Bulls get a superstar. Lakers get some really good surrounding pieces. Detroit gets their power forward they want and a young guard to help Cade.

When healthy, AD is a top 10 performer. He's barely ever healthy though. I wouldn't even trade Vuc for him.

Why waste assets on a guy who barely plays when those assets, such as Vuc, do play and are valuable to your team?

And if you are going to move assets, do it for a player who's actually going to suit up.

If you're trading with the Lakers, go for LeBron. I trust 38 year old LeBron more than AD.

AD has proven he will never stay healthy. I’m pretty sure the Lakers would love to cash out on him if they could find a team foolish enough to do it.

No thanks to Mr. Glass for any package. Waste of cap space. If you can’t play consistently you are worthless. We already went through that crap with Rose.

The thing about all these Lebron, Davis, Zion gambles is you're not talking about a Bulls team that has been together for3-4 years and been unable to to over the hump to win it all. This group hasn't been together at any point in this season, the first season that 1/2 of the roster got to town and only now a year removed from the 2021 trade deadline arrival of Vuc, Green and Brown.

For people to suggest that they throw in the towel on what they just put together BEFORE it even gets out there in full force for either often injured veteran or a kid who may be perpetually injured, doesn't even rise to the level of drunken barstool talk. The people who keep harping on this and keep trying to propose the next desperation trade to "FIX" the Bulls forfeit the right to expect any respect for their knowledge of the NBA game.

Love me some AD but he's shooting 18% from 3 and declining physically. He's a questionable fit for this roster.

I would take KAT over AD. He and PWill could work together probably and he's younger and fits the team dynamic way more. Ofc the biggest and most complete catch will always be The Joker.

Only thing AD has going for him is some clout and the fact he's a Chicago kid. If he wants to sign here on a cheaper vet deal in a few years then sure, we'll see.

Yep. Constantly gets hurt and has lost a LOT of athleticism already.
