There was a point there that he could have maybe made the first team, but towards the end second team is more appropriate. Pretty awesome because he is a solid choice as 2nd team not marginal he really earned it.

That’s really a special accomplishment for a second rounder in this particular year. Look at those names. This will be remembered as a historically significant draft. The rookie class is positively sick, and there’s future studs not even on this list who will develop more slowly.

Congratulations Ayo! And really all of them. It’s an exciting time to be an NBA fan in my opinion.

It's nice to finally have two rookies in a row in the up-and-up recognized by the league (Pat also made it last year). The last time we had that before AKME came in was Lauri in his rookie year.

Hope Ayo continues to get better and we hadn't seen the best of him. That 2-month stretch when he had to fill in as a starting PG was huge. He looked like a floor general out there, continuing to feed his teammates easy baskets and made life hell for other teams starters. There's a reason Vooch's production also went up during that same stretch.

But I have hopes especially if he's gonna go through DeMar's summer camp of hell this offseason - at least on the offensive end anyway

I don't think it was the stats that he put up as much as the contribution he made to the team when thrust into the lineup a year ahead of when he was expected to play. The first team mostly started and put up numbers, the rest of the second team probably scored more. But Ayo was asked to play heavy minutes for a winning team and filled a role that allowed others to carry the team.

Just making this list is no guarantee that he blossoms into a quality player but it should give pause to the teams that made the other top 29 picks before the Bulls as to what they were thinking .

Some Ayo ranks among rookies:

6th in MP
11th in total points
12th in rebounds
5th in assists
8th in FG% (nobody with higher played in more than 41 games)
7th in 3PT%
6th in WS

Obviously some of these are heavily influenced by Lonzo and Caruso's injuries but he was clearly one of the top rookies.

Ayo I predict will one day in a few years possibly become a top 3 player on this team. He has that "it" factor the extra intangible you need to succeed in this league. To be a 2nd rd pick and not only make the rookie sophomore game but be selected on the all rookie 2nd team says AK struck gold and I'm looking forward to whoever we grab this season as well as clearly they have an eye for talent although I'm still not fully sold on Patrick Williams.

Congrats to Ayo well deserved but doesn’t mean anything he still has a lot of work to put in. The last month of the season/Playoffs he didn’t play well as he did earlier. He was a rookie so he gets a pass and I’m sure he will improve. He has a chance to become our Maxey.

A keeper. I wanted Gafford in the 2nd real bad, 3 years ago. Didn't work out, but a great pick
Same with Ayo-I was praying he would slip to us-great pick and seems like a good kid. Let's hope he's here long term
