Sources have also indicated the Bulls are a team with interest in Gobert (and other centers on the market, including Knicks free agent Mitchell Robinson).

Gobert is overrated. His flaws always get exposed in the playoffs. Plus it would cost a lot to get him

Vuc ain't it a better C to defend the paint is good idea.
Boston doing quite well with a big rotation of both Williams, Big Al, and Thesis.

We traded alot of picks to get Vuc and Demar. Don’t think Rudy is a great option since he can’t score. I’d rather go for Ayton if we have to give up assets. Or just sign someone outright if possible.

Mitchell Robinson is exactly what we need. Get it done AKME.

I think there's a fair chance you could get Gobert for Vuc + S&T of DJJ to match salaries and nothing else. Gobert's contract is pretty hideous. I don't think there's a robust market to pay a one way center 160M over the next four years who may also age poorly.

Mitchell Robinson - Yes
Please stay the hell away from that Gobert contract. A true albatross.

Everyone says this, but as KOC hints at in the article, given Gobert's massive salary and offensive limitations, he may not be all that expensive from an asset perspective because there are going to be a limited number of teams - and strictly only teams that see themselves as contenders - that would trade for him.
EDIT: I see Doug has already beaten me to making this point!

I haven't watched Gobert much for the past 2-3 years but before that I considered him a top 10 NBA player. I'd be interested to see if we have a chance for him.

https://www.theringer.com/nba/2022/6/6/23156358/donovan-mitchell-rumors-jazz-nba-finalsBleacher Report’s Jake Fischer reported last month that the Raptors have expressed interest in Gobert. I’ve heard those rumblings too. Sources have also indicated the Bulls are a team with interest in Gobert (and other centers on the market, including Knicks free agent Mitchell Robinson).
This seems to indicate that there are other centers beyond these two that the Bulls have shown interest in. Wonder who else?

Love it. Love to see the front office trying to fill genuine team needs.

Would Vuc/White/#18/Port pick be enough? I think if we signed the #18, then finalized the trade a month later it would be legal
Ball/Ayo
Lavine/Caruso
DDR/JGreen
PWill/random vet
Gobert/Random vet
if healthy, that is a nice team
Utah gets a starting center back, a mediocre prospect in White and 2 picks

Don’t want Gobert. The contract will be crippling by 2024, if not sooner. Speaks volumes hes one of the most disliked players in the league by his peers. He was a total clown in March of 2020 also. If were taking a big swing, I’d much rather take our chances on AD.

I brought up months ago a Vuc + Coby + Pat for Gobert. You pretty much need Pat's salary just to get to Gobert's 38 million owed next year, I think, but maybe there are other ways.
Utah fans expect one of those trade packages where its all future firsts and pick swaps in between those given up 1sts. And if Utah fans expect that, Danny Ainge probably wants more. And I don't feel like giving up the next decade of draft picks for a 30 year old making 40 million a year that can't really score the basketball. No thanks.
So I don't think its feasible. I think Ayton is much more feasible and the better investment. And I bet they think they could convince their fans that getting Vuc + small assets back for Ayton is a win for the team.
Mitchell is also the better investment. S&T for Coby and Portland 1st.

Gobert is truly one of the worst contracts I have ever seen. I'd prefer injury prone Mitchell Robinson for 30% of the cost.

Wouldn’t want either of them. For Gobert they would have to give up a lot to get and don’t think he’s worth it especially since he’s turning 30.
On Mitchell Robinson first thing I have to say is fk that guy, he was the one who hurt P Will on a dirty play that made him miss almost the whole season. Many of you here seem to have forgotten that.
Robinson as a player though would only be good as a back up who can provide toughness, size, rebounding and rim protection. As a starter it would be a bad idea, too injury prone and not good enough. Again off the bench to Vuc would be perfect but I’m guessing will be too expensive to do that. Let’s not forget at the trade deadline AK tried to acquire Poetl as a back up so MAYBE that’s still his plan.

The first rule of being an NBA GM is DO NOT TRADE WITH DANNY AINGE.

I have 0 hours interest in Mitch Robinson. He’s not a guy I’d go after unless at a huge bargain price.
Gobert… I get the fascination but I don’t think we have very complementary pieces. Unless there are a lot of follow up moves it’ll be another situation where we trade for a star then look like less than the sum of the parts because the Bulls won’t spend the time/money to flesh everything out.
Just like last year where we spent a bunch and then didn’t bother to have a real power forward on the roster

People need to go look at Gobert's contract.
You should not be wanting to give up alot of assets...
