Former Bull Sato set to join Niko in Barça

This should be interesting. I think he tried while he was here but clearly was not the creator or playmaker they expected? I wish him well.

Him and Niko were good solid NBA players. Clearly just don't like the life here in the NBA

Both guys prefer being big fish in a small pond...After semi-lengthy NBA careers, I see nothing wrong with that.

I think Sato wasn’t NBA caliber after his first Bulls season. Was really exposed. Maybe he lost a little speed with age and wear. But also I think his confidence plummeted playing for the Boylen show, and I think he was a bad fit for the Bulls in general. Not sure if Zach intimidated him or what, but he passed up so many open shots.

Euro league will suit him very well. Not surprised at all if he finds his scoring confidence and becomes a Euro star, and even murmured for a late NBA return in a few years. Has the size to play wing. Just needs to take and make his open baskets.

Still crazy to me they paid him 10m a year.

Makes sense, he's always played much better in Euro ball vs the NBA. Point guards in the NBA are scorers first, the assists are mostly Iverson assists.

TBH he had a good nba career for a 2nd rounder. Most never get any real minutes or touch the ball much.

Got their NBA money with solid but empty advanced stats during the earlier days of the basketball reference era but weren't really impact level, multi year contract NBA players. I imagine the difference in NBA money they maybe could get vs Euro money is more than made up for in the lifestyle they prefer to live back near home.

I told everybody here Sato would be out the league after his next contract. Sato is a horrible NBA player. He drose nonthing at an NBA caliber level player. He can’t beat anybody off the dibble, refuses to take open shots, his on ball defense is horrid. One of the worst NBA players I’ve ever seen. He stole money from the bulls. People talk about P-Will being timid but Tomas satoransky is the definition of being timid. Also Sato has terrible basket ball IQ. Sato is a pass first point guard that can’t pass. Good luck with playing with Mirotic and Gasol in the Euroleagus buddy.

He's been banned again, until wonderboy37...

Imagine creating your 36th (I guess?) account only to do the only thing you’ve ever done: hating Tomas Satoransky.

Sato must’ve done terrible things to that man‘s family.

Weird to me all the people who think he was a non-NBA caliber player. I would love him back at 4-5M a year as an 8th man type. That said, I totally get wanting to go to Europe where he enjoys the lifestyle / culture, still gets paid fabulously and has a truck ton of NBA money in the bank already. In his situation, I'd likely do the same.

10 minutes later, the unrelated Wonderboy38 will not like it either.

That one made me lol. The ability to turn absolutely any thread into a Sato bashing thread is kind of hilarious tbh.
