Bump thread for Kevin Durant

Post#1 » by TyrusRose2425 » Mon Jun 27, 2022 7:03 pm

Once Kyrie bolts, I would be surprised if we aren’t on his trade list. Considering all the picks they owe Houston, tanking doesn’t really give them anything so they’ll need some “win now” pieces. My offer is DDR, 1sts, Ayo, Coby

This sounds like KD was a problem too. Not just Kyrie.

I want nothing to do w Kyrie.

I’ll take KD but only for a package where can contend.

Probably the only way KD lands in Chicago is if he explicitly calls out Chicago as the place he wants to land.

There's not one player on the Bulls that should be untouchable for KD. Anything short of trading 2 of DeMar, Lonzo, and LaVine should be considered.

(This goes without saying but knowing the Bulls of the past, people are probably unwilling to trade Ayo, Patrick Williams, etc)

Agreed. I’d say it’s actually high odds too considering his relationship w Zach.

I’d say we are 30/40%.

I can't imagine why he'd choose us. He'll want to contend for a ring immediately. Hard to see how that is Chicago over Miami (or any number of other teams).

Durant for Derozan, P-Will, and Coby works under the CAP. There, I said it.

post-golden state, kd seems like he's pretty explicitly not a I Need Rings guy. he'll presumably want to contend, sure, but he basically makes any preexisting playoff team a contender if he doesn't force them to blow up their core. who knows what exactly motivates him but it seems like his perception of team culture / how well he'll personally mesh with key players could be a big a factor as anything

imo, the hopes for him coming to chicago is that we were a solid playoff team last season, he sees derozan and lavine as kindred Hooper spirits, and the PF slot is his for the taking (sorry pat). not the strongest case but he's spoken positively about both our stars in the past so there's something to hang your dreams on

Honest question: would it be worth it to go all in on a soon to be 34 year old KD?

I think our chances could be anywhere from 10-25%. Not huge but also not at all insignificant. We should go for it as along as we have a solid starting lineup around him afterwards. But no to trading Zach. I mean, presumably Zach would be one of the reasons KD would want to be here.

Considering KDs relationship with Zach, I think he’d be looking for us. PointsBet think so as well as they have us with the third best odds.

Does PWill, Vuc, Ayo and a few firsts work? Works perfectly with Dalen sliding into the Ayo role. If you need to, then add Ball. Then sign Mitch and Whiteside for rim protection.

Caruso
Zach
KD
DeMar
Mitch/Hassan

If you somehow fail at KD, I think you should still go after Ben.

Depends on what it takes to land him. I’d kick the tires to see if there’s mutual interest.

I forgot about P-Will. Make him available too, as well as the guy we drafted 18th.

PG- Ball
SG- Lavine
SF- Green
PF- Durant
C- Vucevic

Bench- DJJ, Caruso, MLE.

If we can keep Ayo even better but no one should be off limits.

Right well Brooklyn has a point here. If Irving isn't going to be available or play, why should they invest a new max contract into you. I think Brooklyn is playing this right and Irving will eventually come around to re-signing with the Nets.

He's also spoken really highly of Demar last season. I'm sure he'd want to play with both Zach and Demar.

Vuc, Pat, Lonzo, Terry, 2023 Portland, 2024 Pick Swap, 2026 Pick Swap, 2027 pick, 2029 pick. That's a really heavy package. (Not sure if Brooklyn has their 2024 and 2026 picks for swaps)

Ayo/Caruso
Lavine/White
Demar/TBJ (re-signed)
Durant/Green
MLE Center/Simonovic

Obvious depth issues, but yeah, that's a good team.

Honestly, that's not a championship or even contending team to be honest...

I wouldn’t trade Zach or Demar for him. We need all 3 to be an elite team.
I'm not here to argue.
