I’m onboard cutting Whitehair as long as they can upgrade the O Line. Justin Fields has been sacked 31 times already.

Bears get a 2nd and 5th from Ravens for Roquan? I'll take it!

Go pay Tremaine Edmunds in the offseason. Bigger, faster and longer.

We are finally simpatico. He was my favorite in the Roquan draft. By the numbers, I guess Roquan has him, but I will take a 2rp plus Edmunds.

Sportsmockery is a waste. Trading Kmet + 6th for a 5th is dumb. Kmet is second in the NFL in taking 92.1% of a team's offensive snaps. He's only been targeted 20 times in 457 snaps (3rd most TE in NFL) because he and the RB's are staying in to help the o-line block. Same reason you're not seeing any of the RB's being part of the pass schemes. Both TE and RBs are trying to keep Justin upright.

Now trade a 2nd for one of the available wide receivers? We need to find a way to make positive use of our cap space - the FA market is not too strong this offseason.

Velus/Dom Robinson are both size/speed freaks - they're going to give those guys every chance to figure it out.
The second half of this season they would be smart to just develop the following players:
-N'keal Harry
-Velus Jones
-Alex Leatherwood
-Cole Kmet
There's something special brewing here. Just get Justin some dogs and it's go-time.

I can take EJax but not Monty.

Wonder if Riley Rieff has any value. Or get Justin a dude.

If the Bears can save some 2023 cap and get some good picks, Im sure they will move anyone other than Fields. Poles will go down to the studs, but he also might knock down the studs. Im sure all the usual names are available. Some questions about getting enough return to make it worth doing in Montgomery’s case though. Montgomery is the only backfield pass blocker Justin has other than the fullback. This is a safety issue

receiver FAs look to be a bit bare....I'd be ecstatic if Poles found a way to swing a pick or two from the pile for a receiver upgrade now. fingers crossed...

I think they had some $125-129m in cap space next season already before trading Roquan Smith.
I want to know what kind of contract it would take to keep Monty next season+ then make a decision if it’s worth paying that or acquiring draft pick compensation.

Maybe the Panthers are mad at Moore after his gaffe yesterday.
Moore and Juedy are the guys I want. I don't love Ridley, he's a bit older, although the production is good.

Bye Roquan, going over to LBer fantasy land, Baltimore. 2nd and a 5th is better than I thought.

It wouldn't be a big contract, he's not elite in the league. But it will surely be a lot more than what a drafted player would cost. He might not get the Bears more than a 5th rounder. Because if you are trading for him, you are offering him a contract. And may as well wait until he hits free agency instead of giving up a pick. Generically speaking for non contending teams. Maybe a contender will need a back for the playoffs, so they might give up a pick and not be worrying about paying him. But if the Bears don't get more than a 5th rounder, don't trade him. It's not worth jeopardizing Justin's life leaving him without Montgomery's pass blocking. I just hope the Bears wouldn't sign him for more tha 2 years the way most of these guys go off the cliff after their rookie contract. Just draft a guy, they are always well available after the first day

Internet reports that new Bear AJ is a 31 year old linebacker who used to be productive but who has been on practice squads this season. Not sure why he was in this deal, but there you are.

the Bears will replace Quinn and Roquan with 35 million dollars, plus 2nd, 4th and 5th round picks. I think redirecting Those guys into these assets for the D-Line, O-line, WR would be a good play by Poles.

It also increased the value of the Bears draft picks. This defense is going to look rough over the last 9.

In that Sportsmockery article above, they suggested 3/21 would do it for Monty. He seems worth that.
