Hey all,

I made this little video edit of Ja Morant's recent poster side-by-side with a similar Derrick Rose dunk. Thought you'd all appreciate it! Also, if you're willing to support, my new Twitter handle could use some love (Twitter thinks I'm a bot, I think).

Derrick had some amazing dunks through his career (when he was healthy), but Ja is on a different level. Just how frequently, and relentlessly he goes up for dunks is something we've never seen from a point guard ever. He is absolutely fearless.

Yeah, it's quite astounding. And to be honest, based on Ja's college highlights, I didn't expect him to have this level of athleticism. I was thinking he'd be on par with John Wall or a touch below Russell Westbrook. But Ja is DRose with more length and height. It's unfair.

I wonder how durable Ja will remain because on one hand he isn't as muscular at the top as Rose and he doesn't go 100 mph like Rose but his body type is still frail enough to get plagued by injuries.

Derrick did it against best team aka super team in NBA. And Morant did it against Pacers. Great dunks. Maybe I am looking bit with nostalgia glasses, but hate I have for modern NBA basically ruins enjoyment even when dunks and plays like what Morant do happen. When Bulls went against Heat it was something at stake. That's how their games went. This is wishy washy.

Basketball is not anymore sport, it's entertainment for tv rankings. And I guess as long you treat it that way you are good. With each week new fake records happening.

Rose took worse falls, he was always knocked out of the air in crazy angles and landed poorly. That was the difference between him and iverson in the sense iverson fell better. Ja still falls poorly but not quite as bad as Rose did back then. Rose also got hurt primarily imho because of playing through that groin injury and he over compensated his body, hence the knee injury was bound to happen. All that being said, I too worry about Ja getting hurt.

Ja = Westbrook with the light bulb on his head turning on.

I think there's a fairly high chance Rose ends up on this team this season. Lonzo's probably not coming back, Coby is our most likely trade chip...

AKME wanted to sign Rose a two summers ago, but he got a better offer from the Knicks. I would imagine they still have interest, and in a cheap way, bringing him back to Chicago would give some positive press that would distract from our poor play.

Ja reminds me of Rose on the floor and McGrady in the air. Dude is special.

I was actually thinking about a couple parallels between Ja and Rose. They are eerily similar.

They both had great, promising rookie years.
They both had all-star caliber 2nd years.
They both had MVP caliber 3rd years where they put up a good fight against the championship favorites in the playoffs.
They both established their team as a top tier team in their conference their 4th year.

It would be eerie if Ja finished this pattern by getting injured at the end of year 4. And with his acrobatics and willingness to put his body in peril, I won't be surprised if it happens.

If this were a lockout year, it wouldn't surprise me either.
