Update PG 4: Patrick Williams OUT For Season

From Bulls PR
Will be assessed again in 2 weeks.
This should force AKME to do something to get some more size on the team. This could linger to be a month or more. Especially with Craig also out.
I guess we will see plenty of Julian Phillips now. Might be a good thing.

Yeah, Pat's been trash for a few weeks after a (random) uptick in performance. I'll be optimistic that getting healthy will help him.
Maybe this will be enough for AKME to make some moves.
I am happy to see if Phillips has any consistent game.

Wouldn’t be surprised if the injury is more serious than reported and he misses significant time. The Bulls have done this before.

Paul George had a bone edema in his foot. He returned but complained he had no jump or explosiveness and it lingered for months.
I'm not worried long term, but it probably severely hurts his chances of proving he's worth a $100M contract because there won't be many games left to significantly alter his season averages, and he's been almost identical every season for 4 years now in ppg/rpg/apg.

Bulls medical staff at its best! Third world country type shite... yes, I live in a third world country
It's always the same pattern, since the Lu Deng days

Re-evaluated in two weeks doesn’t necessarily mean he’s out for two weeks. Could be a little longer and my guess is that it will be.

We get these weird, no-timetable, "we'll see what happens" type injuries every year:
2022 - Lonzo Ball
2023 - Javonte Green
2024 - Patrick Williams

I know nothing about bone edema but the online stuff on it is not good.

I’m just glad they let him play on it for so long, like when he decided to go in Charlotte weeks ago. That 5th time back home was special!!
Plus a playin berth is at stake here people!!
This franchise is always so dumb and short-sighted. It’s so bad you can only laugh at this point.
[Edit: in fairness, it’s the other foot, though I wonder about compensatory injury given the timing]
Now they’ll rush Craig back and effectively end his career.
We’ll see some more Julian Phillips I suppose.

The passive version of RJ Barrett. Hopefully we don’t pay him like RJ based on draft position.

This has happens too often. I would bet any money you will soon hear stories about how Craig is ahead of schedule and maybe back soon.
The reason why these players want to come back earlier is because they want to fight with their teammates. Caruso did this ALOT in his first season here. He kept coming back early because we also didnt have Lonzo. But it just made him worse and made him sit longer.
You shouldn't rush foot injuries. Craig comes back early, and reaggravate it, then he's done for the year.
If there is ever a year it would be ok to pack it in, its this year. We have our draft pick. Hopefully more with a Zach deal. Then build up some capital on the roster.

I'm pretty sure his prior injury was to his right foot. This is a new injury to his left foot, I believe.
Bad news for Pat, but could be good news for us with regard to his next contract. Also good to get more floor time for Phillips and Terry. None of these games matter anyway, so more run for the youngters is always a plus.

This is also bad news for Duck, because this Saturday is my sole trip to Chicago for a Bulls game this year. Oh well.

I do hope that Billy lets Terry and Phillips play more significant minutes now instead of quick hooks and making DeMar and Coby play 40+ mpg. Let them make their mistakes, it's fine.
I don't know how much we lose in terms of on-court production since Pat has been so up and down anyway, but guys do need to step it up. Like, Jevon Carter, wth dude? As a vet, you can't be giving us consistent 0s every game when we're already so thin.

Bulls- the best place to learn about new medical terms.
Quick google- uh, he is either missing 2 weeks and coming back playing as immobile as ever, or this shall linger for the rest of the year.

Stuff like this is not unique to the Bulls - you all just follow the Bulls closest.
I'd sign Darius Bazley today. Crushes my Kai Jones dreams, but seems like power-forward is more of a need at the moment.
G-league stats aren't actually all that good this year:
17 games - 19 points with 26% 3P%. 10 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 1 steal per game.
Shot 37% from 3 in the NBA last year.
Still 23 years old.

Good size/athleticism. Competes for rebounds. when the shot falls he looks like a steal, it just often does not. Good thing we have a shooting coach

You’re right, different sides. Who knows, possibly a compensatory injury since this seems like a weird one. Suns staff is supposed to be great with that sort of thing. Could just be unrelated too. Does feel like rather coincidental timing.

They just signed Taj to a 10-day.

Craig should be back by the all star break so it's only 8 games. I'm sure the other guys can make up Pat's 10pt 4rb per game until then.

Sounds like this could be a 2-3 month injury. Just shut him down, trade Zach, and tank. Who the **** cares about a play in spot right now?
