He was ridiculously good tonight. Hope Coby is ok.

I had a coworker who played against DeMar in HS.
He said DeMar cooked them (he played for Long Beach) and the whole game kept telling them he was going to be the next Kobe Bryant.

Tonight he was.

I smirk every time people talk about how the league has become soft. A 245 pound guy comes flying in and lands squarely on top of a player after he takes the shot, and it's no call at all. You can't get any more physical than that, not without carrying a bat.

That was a fantastic play and DeMar called it. Ayo was looking to get him the ball and DeMar waived him off, pointed at the AC screen so he could switch onto Haliburton and Ayo COOKED him.

Also, man does this team have heart. I wish it had the talent to match. These guys have a better record than the Pacers over the past 25 games, even though the Pacers have Haliburton, Siakam, and Turner. There's no way that should happen.

He is a great leader on this team. You can see how much the young guys like and respect him.

Yep, if you ignore the issues with the team construction, and all the front offices flaws, the players and the coaches haven't given up when they easily could have, and they've just gutted out difficult wins after difficult wins all throughout the season.

We are depleted as hell, questionable depth, key players logging massive minutes, but through it all they've shown so much heart and like you say, it's a damn shame that the front office hasn't done their part and built a better roster, because with a more balanced and deeper team, we could have made some teams nervous with the right match up in the play-in and possibly playoffs. But alas, I think they are eventually going to lose steam.

Still, I love how they aren't letting up. It's not wonder the front office has kept this group together, they clearly love playing together and for each other, and it shows out on the floor. Got to give Billy credit in that regard, he has kept the players focused on what they have control over.

I understand he "touched" the ball first (although there was contact up leading up to the layup), but being able to jump on top of a guy and body slam him should not be a legal block.

I understand both sides of the issue, and while I’m very solidly entrenched on one, I respect the other (but really pray it doesn’t happen)

So question, do you think we are at point yet where more than 50% WANTS DeMar to be back next year?

I think majority of board preferred to move on from him. But he has shown he’s a lot more than just an All-Star/All-Pro scorer. (I do think he has a shot at All-NBA given the game limit eliminating a lot of people).

It looked like the hip at the time, I thought, but I'm worried it was dislocated.

I absolutely want him back, but there are huge repercussions to resigning him past 2026 (even 25), and in all honesty he should look for atleast a 3y max (since he’s earned it).

Do we want a 38yo Demar on a $45m deal on a sub-500 team with zero prospect all stars?

DeMar is so crazy good!

He passes Elgin Baylor and Dwayne Wade on all time scoring list. Wow, that’s a big feat. Pacers announcers bring up the list at end of regulation and talk about how impressive it is. Then talk about how next up is Adrian Dantley and how he’d surly pass him next game.

DeMar says hell naw. Claws the Bulls back. Perfect missed free throw (like honestly one of best I’ve ever seen), then hits an absolutely incredible game tying shot. Then takes leads OT, and passes Dantley. Wow!

That’s an insane three guys to pass in one night. Premier of the premier scorers from three different generations of basketball.

Can we just keep the 2019 Boylen Bulls and add Demar? And some popcorn?

I hope Coby’s OK. That looked pretty rough.

I certainly don't think it was dislocated. No chance he would've been able to get up and walk off. The best case scenario will be some of sort of contact injury leading to bruising. There might be a hip flexor injury or something similar which would keep him off the court for a few weeks.
