Philly trying to right a wrong with the Jimmy speculation. I know its different management and all but boy did they screw that up and I'm not too sure extending a 35 yr old Butler is exactly the right move. Interesting how that plays out. BTW I love Jimmy Butler, so no knock on him.
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if I'm wrong.
KC: You were asked that question at the news conference announcing Thibodeau's dismissal and you answered yes

The good thing with Jimmy is that I saw a report he wants a 2 year extension. So I mean thats not terrible unlike a 4 or 5 year ext or something. It'll be interesting to see what the Sixers if they whiff on PG and cant find a deal for Jimmy.

You guys heard this? Turns out the Jimmy Hoiberg situation was crazier than I thought.

That actually seems pretty restrained for Butler, just to say "I don't like you."

Compared to recently:

The organization was worse than I thought in that moment lmfaoo. I always figured it was overblown, would have never thought it was actually toxic as hell. I shouldnt be surprised tho after what they did to Thibs to bring Hoiberg in.

Between Embiid and Old Man Butler, there would need to be a ton of load management, and even so, only about a 25% chance that both are healthy when the playoffs begin. That said, Philly would be a monster if somehow they both were (relatively) healthy and available. Those two guys + Maxey, whew.

I think most locker room stories are crazier than whatever we initially heard - even this past year with mostly nice, quiet choir boys. I need somebody to tell the real story of that Game 1 team only meeting or the details behind the Zach/Billy beef.

Stan is looking good with that earlier statement. This backcourt is ridiculous offensively.

Minnesota has been disappointing against Dallas. I guess they ran out of gas after playing the Nuggets?

More like they got outplayed in the end and they really didnt have a counter to that Luka + Kyrie punch. In the end your stars have to shine, and Dallas had their stars shine bright.

There are surely so many dumb posts about not wanting Kyrie in some old threads on our board.

I bet Kyrie on the Bulls would be much different than on the Mavs.

Ant & Towns were just awful offensively (for the series), just no way around it.
Disappointing because the roleplayers scored very efficiently on top of their D & hustle.
Ant will mature, get more consistent, and improve he has plenty of time. KAT though, he turns 29 this year.

I think Denver is the team that has to take a hard look at themselves losing to Minny who got dispatched by DAL easier than OKC.

At full strength, I would think that Celtics win in 6 games at most, but with Kristaps being gimpy, and the Mavs being so big, this Finals could go 7 with either team having a chance to win.

I'm really curious to see how Tatum steps up, because he has always been a bit of an iffy star player, whereas Kyrie and especially Luka a bonafide superstars.
Why so serious?

On paper it massively favors Boston, but teams with the best player on the court often find a way of winning. And on a few nights, Kyrie can be the 2nd best player on the court.

What can Denver do? KCP is a free agent and they owe first round picks to other teams in 2025, 2027 and 2029.

They do have the 28th pick in the upcoming draft.

It’s weird. Despite Ant’s athleticism, it seems like the overwhelming majority of the time he moves quickly and smoothly, but it’s not blindingly quick….and that speed is pretty constant…which means he’s more predictable and easier to contain off the dribble than his athleticism would suggest.

Am I crazy? Or do others see it too?

I think Dallas has the 2 best players remaining. I like Tatum but Kyrie just outperforms a lot of ppl on the bright stage. I think Boston needs KP back and healthy, you can get away with Horford playing Indy but this Dallas team is a lot more composed and won't fall into stupid basketball. JKidd wont allow it.

You essentially have 48 minutes of a high-flying C who runs to the rim, rebounds, and plays solid D.
