3-2
Finally broke a 2 year curse.
A crazy game to watch in the first quarter. It was like a non NBA team. Down 20 points. We closed better in the second. The 3rd quarter was very exciting. The 3s came raining in and we took the lead.
The 4th quarter may have been historically bad for both teams. It was like 0-21 for both teams. But a 3 in the final minute by none other than Patrick Williams saved the game.
Quick points: Game ball goes to both Patrick and Giddey.
Patrick couldnt hit anything in the first half. But came alive in the second with 3 clutch 3s. Not to mention the great defense he played on Paulo and seemingly the only one that could. Was a team best +15 tonight.
Josh is certainly getting more comfortable as he has yet another double double with 20pts and 11 rebs. Hitting 4-4 3ptrs. At this rate, this guy is going to get PAID. He was huge tonight.
Vooch and Coby were solid tonight. Zach had an off game but hopefully he isnt getting knicked up.
Ayo looked like Ayo tonight getting 12pts off the bench. Good to see him get going.

You're probably right, but there will be games this season that we would have won if we had Caruso. His stats were very pedestrian but he was an elite defender for us, did all the little things that contribute to winning, and let's not forget he hit a couple of GW'ing shots for us last season.
Having said that, it's hard to argue against trading a 30-year-old (elite) role player who has peaked and is better suited for a contender in exchange for a young triple-double threat with elite size for his position. The early returns on Giddey are very promising.

- Wild that we won this game without Lonzo and Smith, those guys have been difference makers early on despite limited minutes
- For years it seems like we get off to about the worst starts imaginable then claw our way back for exciting comeback wins. Are we ever going to shore up the horrifically slow starts? Comebacks are fun, but you can't rely on them
- Great D and some clutch buckets by Pat tonight, now come back next game and string together a few good performances in a row
- It's crazy that we can't find minutes for Matas even with 2 guys out and another guy hampered. We're doing a reverse PWill with him

Wow...had this one picked as an L, and that was before Ball and Smith were out. That first quarter was UGLY. The TO's were once again predictable and the 3's weren't falling, and then they came back. Was somewhat disappointed that we only took 34 3's, but we shot over 38%, which turned out to be the difference. ORL started out hot and then went cold.
Giddey (at least for tonight) silencing the critics (many of them are here). Happy for the kid. Great all-around game.
Coby warmed up later in the game.
Vuc played (I hate saying this) well.
Zach seemed to hurt his shoulder, I just want him to stay healthy.
Pat played good defense, so kudos on that. Good that he made those 3's too, but man he is otherwise so hard to watch on offense.
Ayo played great on both ends and was a big part of that comeback. It is tragic that he didn't get 30MPG with Ball out.
Terry is still a mess offensively...I was really rooting for him to make a big leap.
Matas...played...a little.

Awesome awesome win. Most invested i've been in a game in 3 years! Giddey's passing is so contagious and everyone just moves with so much more of a purpose on O with him. Heck even P-WIll looked good at the end in the flow of the offense. Lavine was cutting!!!! Donvoan had the balls to bench Vooch final possession?? I don't know what on earth just happened but i'm into it.
We got the Jazz and Nets next.... Lets build off this and see what's real. Magic are a top 3 defensive team in NBA and play hard every night. That win wasn't nothing.

Historically, it's really unusual to trade an older guy on an expiring for a much younger, productive guy on a rookie contract. Only other example I can think of is the Serge Ibaka trade, which was very lopsided.
Giddey trade has potential to be a change in franchise trajectory.

Giddey's per minute #s are insane. Per 36, 20 points 11 rebounds 7 assists. 59% 3P shooting.
His low minutes are stopping him from really stuffing the stat sheet. Great for a guy younger than some of the rookies in the draft.

Biggest factor in the comeback was cutting down on turnovers. First half they were careless with the ball leading to bad transition defense and easy buckets. Second half not so sloppy which allowed them to climb back in.

Noah & Kukoc in the building is probably why we won, no other reason makes sense.

every year there are a couple teams that no one thought had any business being decent. Bulls could be that this year.
Not that its a great outcome long term, because this team tops out as a 2nd round team if everyone turns out great.

Pat is the only player on this team that can guard elite 4s. Phillips is a twig and Matas is a twig that has no idea how to play NBA level basketball yet.

Key to winning is going down 20 in the first half.

He benched Vuc for just for that last possession for defense matchup purposes. Really not a big deal lol. Vuc had a very good game again.

I use Chrome, but I may switch to Safari just for this site. This is absolutely ridiculous how poorly this site runs.

I hope no one gets too excited over this 3-2 start.
The Hornets and Wizards are 2-2. It's early season.
That being said, it's great to see Giddey playing very well. He was red hot from 3 today, hopefully he can knock these down when left open.
Pitty Jalen 'fake 40% 3pt shooter' Smith was out.
If Zach is injured again, that's terrible, it's one of his biggest knocks and a reason many teams don't want to give up much for him and his contract.
This was a very low scoring game, reminiscent of the 90s.
That FRP the Spurs have is still up in the air.

I’ll definitely be happy when he gets the go ahead to play as many minutes as Zach and Coby do
