Soooo.... Let's speculate, who are the best fits and what kind of Godfather haul are we talking? He has 3-4 great years left, his divaness and behaviour be darned!

Personally, I think the earliest that Milwaukee would plausibly trade him would be summer 2026. It's way way too early to speculate who might really want him or have the package needed to get him.

Might be true, but in today's world of NBA stars running the show, you never know. All it takes is 1 desperate GM with good to great draft capital plus assets. You could also make it a complex 3 or 4 team trade.

Whats our best offer? Something along the lines of -
Coby, Matas, Giddey, Pwill, and as many picks/pick swaps as possible for Giannis? Not enough, but who knows, I thought Giannis has expressed interest in playing for Chicago in the past

Maybe I haven't followed closely enough, but I don't recall anyone nearly the status of giannis that has forced his way out with multiple guaranteed years left on his deal. He's the best player in franchise history and brought them a title. I very heavily doubt they will give him up for anything remotely plausible that would be offered with more than one guaranteed year left on his deal.

This guy says it's because the Bucks value Doc over Giannis.
There's also another brewing backstory in Milwaukee that could push Giannis toward an exit. Many people in the NBA have heard that Rivers, known for his in-house political maneuverings, has already won over the owner enough that he's now the key voice in basketball decisions.
Sorry I'll believe that when someone credible (Shams) puts his name on something that stupid.

That would be a fairly foolish, almost Bulls-like move on their behalf, IMO. He'll only have one guaranteed year left on his deal. If Milwaukee concludes this run is over, they'd be much better served maximizing the haul they could get, which would involve moving him this season or offseason.

I agree and yeah it is foolish speculation ( as the above póster stated) but it's something to bandy about. The Thunder have a ton of draft capital and can offer Hartenstein, Don't, & Williams to match salaries as a fantasy proposal.

Sorry, I didn't mean it would be foolish to speculate about the trade, just that it would be foolish for Milwaukee to wait until after the '25-26 season to entertain the idea. If they're now out of contender status due to aging and losing key players, the best thing would be to rip the band-aid off and get maximum value for Giannis. If they wait until then (or until Giannis is disgruntled and actually trying to force his way out), they could lose some leverage.
That said, I understand a ton of the value of that franchise is tied up in having him as a player, so I'm sure they'd desperately like to salvage things if they can. It's just hard to see a good path where that's going to work.

The actual writer is Bill Reiter who speculates the Nets or Heat, but I seriously doubt they have any assets.

Giannis will go to Rockets or OKC and that could put those teams right there for multiple chips.

We aren’t trading for Giannis. Forget about it.

Agree, and they wouldn't trade him within the division, even if we could; however, this is the sort of situation that we could/should be praying for in another year. We MAY have a roster of very good role players, young prospects, and our picks to work with.

"strong belief" from "league sources" that a dude "COULD" ask for a trade IS NOT A **** CONCEPT IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE.
Sorry.

Giannis can't shoot, is the wrong side of 30 and gets paid like he's prime Steph. The only reason we should care is that we might be able to get some value for absorbing a salary into the slot currently occupied by Duarte and Craig.

29 is the wrong side of 30?

By next summer when he actually gets traded he won't be 29.
Mid season trades for a guy on a max contract are practically impossible in the new CBA, same reason we won't be able to move Zach until then.

No thanks to Giannis.
Giannis (at his age) is the type of guy you add to a team that already has some established pieces in place, OKC, NY, GS and PHX come to mind.
I doubt the Bucks would want to trade him to their 'neighbours', I also doubt they'd want LaVine as the 'main piece' coming back.
