Is there a market for Lonzo @ the TDL?

Yes it's Cowley, but let's ask ourselves if sending Lonzo off as an expiring makes sense. What about to a playoff chasing team or bundling him with Vuc? He uses the Schroeder trade to the Dubs as an example.

Too much Injury concern his market is non existent . He could be traded tonight and nobody would know if he plays tomorrow.

There could definitely be a market for him, but no reason to expect it would be more beneficial to us than simply keeping him and his bird rights. Like, yeah, sure we could probably get a couple of bad players on expiring deals for him, but **** that. He's still young enough and good enough that there is a small chance he could still be a long term piece for us. It may be small, but it's probably more likely than getting anything of real value would be for him.

The play should be Zo for bad contracts that expire when Zach does or one year earlier and a future 1st.
That’s how you rebuild. More assets.

Meh. I don't think we'd get a good enough 1st to make it worth our while.
I would rather just hold him to the end of the season on the semi-decent chance that he survives the season with another leg injury (which would be a big confidence builder for me in his future durability) and that we could sign him to a reasonable "7th man" deal. I think we would be in decent shape if we can resign him and Giddey on reasonable deals, but he could be good insurance in case we can't keep/don't want Giddey.

Before dealing him I would call Rich Paul and wonder how much money Lonzo is going to be looking for in the summer.

If he’s healthy and playing well over a reasonable period of time prior to the deadline it would seem there would be pretty nice market. He’s a basketball genius who defends multiple positions and hits 3s. And it’s the last year of his deal.
I’m not talking about a major return or anything. Too many injury questions. But for one run? I bet there will be several interested teams if he’s been healthy and playing well.

If the trade deadline was today, we might be able to get someone to take a flyer on him. I don't really see Schroder being indicative of anything though. DS is dependable in a way that Lonzo just can't be right now.
That said, there is still a lot of season left until the trade deadline. Ball could raise his value if he stays healthy and is able to fully get off of the minutes restriction.

There's definitely a market for his expiring contract... the player, probably not as much.

He has no court value. His value is an expiring contract for salary matching or in exchange for a worse contract plus asset.

There's no way he fetches a 1st rounder even a bad one. Schroder didn't net a 1st rounder.
He's great on defense but he's been awful on offense, he's shooting 37% overall.
Whatever he returns, maybe a 2nd rounder, I don't think the Bulls will find it worth taking on $20M of long term contracts. Most likely their best scenario for Lonzo is he expires and they get his money off the roster.
We would probably pay a 2nd rounder to get $20M off.

Ball is trying to avoid jumping in traffic. People are over playing him trying to force him to drive and he does not.

His reluctance to drive isn't a new thing. If you go back pre-injury, he was horrid at anything inside the arc.
