Cowley: Bulls ready to add Patrick Williams to trade block

Post#1 » by HomoSapien » Sun Jan 19, 2025 4:01 am

A source Saturday told the Sun-Times that Karnisovas finally has bought in to the idea that 23-year-old forward Patrick Williams needs a change of scenery, opening the door for him to be on the trade block, too.

So why the change of heart?

The Bulls’ coaching staff has been trying to unlock Williams’ potential for years. And while he has had setbacks with injuries, the source said Williams hasn’t been easy to work with.

As is the case with most NBA teams, individual coaches are matched up with individual players, and there has been frustration on both sides with previous matchups. The source stressed that Williams hasn’t been volatile or difficult in terms of his behavior. It’s more about him not being completely comfortable to buy in to what’s being communicated.

Wow, the bolded is kind of surprising. Like, I know he's timid but didn't think it would affect him in a sense that it causes him some sort of anxiety.

I learned after GarPax.

AKME is the reason why I was never all-in on Poles.

Both seem to want to coast of their laurels of an early positive move fall in love with the smell of their own farts way too soon.

AKME have made a grand total of two good moves. Signing Caruso and drafting Ayo. Everything else has been a complete disaster.

That got dinged for how they signed Ball, but signing him was a good move (knee issues aside). The problem was not fixing the PF spot (too much PW love) and not blowing up the team sooner when it was clear Lonzo was going to be out for seasons.

I mean they should want that, they won't get it but they should want it.

You mean the Lonzo Ball that is a part time basketball player?

You mean the Torrey Craig that doesn't play?

You mean the Andre Drummond that was let go for nothing when they had offers?

Just stop, the trolling stopped being midly amusing a long time ago.

This is like saying that every girlfriend you ever had was terrible because you didn't get married.

Everyone of those signings was fantastic.

I don't think it would, someone will go for the potential but we'd only get a bad contract back.

This is a clear leak. Very un AK like.

Sounds like it may be a coach that was working directly with Pat.

But in true AK fashion he will sell at Pat’s all time low value.

They shouldn’t have extended him in the first place. Pat doesn’t fit the roster unless you have him coming off the bench. He’s a black hole in the starting unit and a pretty big part of our recent slide.

I think that maybe AK’s new approach to managing is making the rest of the league feel so sorry for us, that maybe we’ll catch a few bones.
