This W is in the bag.

Ain't no water the Bulls want to stay in that 8th spot, not in the lottery anyway.

This is what I dont get. Its clear that there are several teams that are purposely tanking. Silver rarely says anything to some but pinpoints others. Just leave them all alone.

The Raptors have rested guys for no reason at all. The Sixers have rested Maxey for like 7 straight games now.

Yes I am petty because a few years back we got reprimanded for sitting our guys while other teams were doing it the whole final month of the season and nothing.

If it were consistent to all teams, I would feel different, but some teams are ignored.

I think Silver does treat teams unfairly in this regard. Collectivley bargained tv contracts are not doubt heavily influenced by the major markets.

For the Jazz specifically - I don't follow them closely enough to know how much these reasons are real or not.

For a lot of these players though - I'm not sure where their confidence is coming from that they can afford to sit out these game and still be on NBA teams' radars in future seasons.

Also very off - Jazz don't have a single expiring contract. They have some non-guaranteed deals on their roster and they'll likely let those players go.

Just found it odd and couldn't really remember a recent team where a team didn't have a single pending free agent.

The Bulls got in trouble because they pretty much admitted they were sitting players to tank like the incompetents they were. You have to play up lingering injuries that every player has like ankle soreness for plausible deniability.

Instead, we do the total opposite and run players like Ayo into the ground, even when we are supposedly tanking

The most annoying part about the Bulls getting reprimanded over resting players was that they got reprimanded over resting Robin Lopez and Justin Holiday...

Literally nobody came to Bulls games to watch either of those players.

I agree. The main problem is consistency. Make a clear rule and either enforce it or don't make the rule at all.

When the Bulls were warned about it (Justin Holiday/Robin Lopez) I wish ownership had the guts to just ignore it and continue to tank. Unfortunately, Bulls ownership doesn't look at a fine as "sunk cost" like the Jazz do.

The fines are nothing, the Jazz are literally paying Lauri Markkanen 42m to sit on the bench, a 100k fine isn't an issue for them.

I know a lot will depend on the draft, but I'm curious to see what the Jazz do next year. If they get a top three pick do they try and compete?

Or do they tank again?

Another year of tanking...does Markkanen ask to be traded? What about other players such as Sexton?

I hope Lauri plays. I'm interested to see where his game is right now. I also enjoy hating on Collin Sexton. Not a John Starks level of hate, because tbh neither Sexton nor his teams have accomplished crap, but a healthy dislike. No particular reason. Another team we don't see a lot of. Who knows. Maybe the Jazz pull one out for the home crowd. For some reason I kind of doubt it.

We sat Robin f#$%king Lopez and were threatened with fines for each game he sat. It was the Luka draft.

Like a year later Al Horford went to OKC in a trade and they told him not to bother reporting and they'd trade him in the offseason (they got him as a salary dump at the deadline). They tanked and he went back to Boston that offseason. Not a word from the league.

I am like 99% sure the league is in agreement with Reinsdorf's philosophy of being just good enough to make a sh#%load of money while being mediocre. The one time they rocked the boat they got hit in the checkbook.

Markkanen is having a down year, but I imagine that he's not very motivated knowing that the Jazz are tanking.

He's not listed on the injury report on ESPN, so it seems like he's playing.

Vuc doing his best to command the tank. I know it's for the best but it's still hard to watch.
