I used to think there was a deal doable with GS, but with Payton expiring, I think it will be tough to make the $ work. Not sure GS would do Vuc for Looney, Hield and Moody to make $ work. Then we'd have roster space issues.

Maybe the Lakers would trade Caleb Marten and Maxi Kleber for him.

Maybe MIL would if they lose BroLo (unlikely).

Not sure who else would even consider taking his crappy contract.

Buying him out will look bad for AK after extending him...so maybe more Vuc next season.

Seeing as AK is not interested in going the tanking route and these young guys are firing on all cylinders currently, here's a quick list of players that could be gettable that could add to the teams dynamic.

Benedict Mathurin - he's been in and out of the starting line-up for the Pacers, probably the hardest to get and most expensive, but I'm a big fan, could be a Giddey type situation?

Jett Howard - I've always like Jett, he doesn't really need the ball in his hand to be effective and is a good shooter with good size.

Cam Whitmore - This guy's minutes are all over the place, but he has talent and is an amazing athlete, he'd suit this teams run and gun style.

Nic Claxton - Did you know Nic is still only 25? I didn't. Defensive rim runner the team severely needs, he's a tad overpaid, but his deal is on a descending scale. Brooklyn probably has a stupidly high price for him though.

Ousmane Dieng - Are the Thunder holding another diamond that just needs some polishing to shine? When he gets bigger minutes he seems to do well, not as big on him as others on this list, but I'd take a chance if the price is right.

Over on the T&T board the question is Jarrett Allen availability and value
I'd be far more interested in him than Zion or any of the more popular fantasies.

Directly with CLE I don't see it. But where's a team presently rebuilding with whatever the Cavs think would make them better who would be interested in several of the Bulls expiring contracts to clear cap space next summer? The Bulls get Allen and whatever they need to take back, send Vuc and Carter to the 3rd team and Ayo and Collins to CLE and that 3rd team sends CLE a quality PF maybe. Maybe the Bulls trade down from #10 to #15-20 with the 3rd team.

CLE starts Mobley at center, gives up a quality center but gets out of the 3 years he's got left with Allen as Garland, Mobley, Mitchell, even Hunter and Struss come up for big money. The 3rd team gets some expiring contracts for cap space and the Bulls get a shot blocking, rebounding, capable scorer starting center for the long haul.

We don’t need any of those guys. I’m happy with Collins and Smith as our centers next season. Sign a cheap 3rd C and roll. Or draft one if he is BPA. Collins looked great in our new offense until Vuc started getting his entitlement minutes.

I'm with you. We have too many guys on the roster heading into next season, and our best course for improvement in the short term will be to do addition through subtraction.

I think it depends on the cost. It's a good idea to try and find young players who might just need a change of scenery (which was Giddey before this year).

Sign me up for Cam. Dude just can’t get mins in HOU. He’s a bucket. Not great IQ and very little besides buckets but there is top shelf talent there.

Collins might not be here long term, plus it's always good to try to improve any way you can.

I'm also not just talking about Gafford. I'm talking about the entire list Muzbar made and his general idea.

He wanted to be traded after the FO tried to trade him last deadline and failed.
After that yes, he wanted to be traded. I think anyone would have in the same circumstances. He gets paid the same either way, why not play for a team that actually wants you.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind adding guys, but I think we'll be hard pressed to open up roster spot. I wouldn't mind a consolidation trade including Ayo and or the POR pick for a really good vet defensive PF or offensive 6th man. That said, any roster spot generated by a trade like that would probably go toward keeping Jones.

BTW, does anyone have a logically viable trade for Vuc? I used to think GS or LAL were good partners but I think GS will be challenged to match salary in the offseason and LAL, post Luka trade, can't afford to add a non-defensive, non-lob threat C. Who else would want him and has the right salaries to match? I can't see 3-way deals working because we'd need to be giving pick(s) because nobody taking Vuc is giving a pick to get him.

Yeah, I see a lot of posts saying that a Vooch trade is necessary, but I'm not sure there'll be much of a market for him unless he's just an expiring salary in some broader deal.
