is ace bailey (#3 pick) an acceptable outcome in the lotto?
don't know anything about the prospects, so curious whether there is a significant gap amongst the top 3

i picked 'go fish' just because i liked it as an option. also liked the thread title. +1 thread. i don't know who ace bailey is, but the fact that his name is ace makes me think we should draft him. i guess he wears #4 which seems, i dunno, why wouldn't you pick #1, ace.

Threads from mid April are on the middle of the page. Back in the day when we were busy on this board good threads could get pushed off the front page easily so we were cautious about locking and merging. Nowadays, if someone wants to make content Bulls related, go for it.
Would prefer if it had an Ace Bailey highlight or analysis video though.

If moving up to #3 isn't an acceptable outcome, man are people going to be disappointed with sticking at #12.
As for the question about whether there is a significant drop off at #3, from what I gather in my totally non-expert opinion is that there seems to be a pretty big gap in evaluation between Flagg and Harper at #1 and #2. While Harper seems to be solidified as the clear #2, the gap between him and whomever is at #3 isn't quite as big, and there is no clear pick at #3 and several guys are vying for that spot.

Bulls have an 8% chance to get him. You wont have to worry about how good or bad he will be.
FWIW at the start of the year he was seen as 1B to Cooper Flagg. He did not have the year expected from him at Rutgers which is why he lost the #2 spot to his teammate Dylan Harper (who looked like a much better player). If he max hits he can be the next KD, which is why he is locked in at #3 despite the up and down year, though he could fall a few spots if the right team moves up. More likely he tops out as a Rudy Gay type. Which isn't bad... But probably not what you want from #3.

I have positive associations with the #3 pick.

I think the top 4 are as set as it can be.
1. Flagg
2. Harper
3. Bailey
4. Edgecombe
You could see some movement in 3-4 if some crazy lottery magic happens.
After that you have (in no order): Kon Knueppel, Khaman Maluach, Tre Johnson, Kasparas Jakucionis, Derik Queen, Jeremiah Fears, Jase Richardson, Asa Newell, Collin Murray-Boyles, Egor Demin, Noa Essengue.
Will be interesting how the draft process goes for that group and where they land. Maluach could go #6 if teams see him hitting 3s consistently in draft work outs, but a win now team might pass. If CMB is close to 6'9" that could push him into the top 10, but if he 6'6" that will push him out of the top 10. KJ could take that #6 spot back if it comes out his injury is what messed up his shot. Derik Queen looking in great shape could lock him into that 7-10 range (if he isnt there already).

If we get the 3 pick we will be welcoming Giannis to Chicago.

No we won’t. Giannis is not wasting the rest of his career here.

There's some argument for VJ at #3, but either way Bulls would be celebrating for the play-in loss.
I think AK would seriously consider trading it in a KD/Giannis offer though.

I think it depends on what the trade entails. If we got the 3 pick and we don't have to trade a lot of assets other than salary dump, he may be intrigued by a core of Giddey/Matas/Coby and truth be told that is a good surrounding core for Giannis - better talent than the Bucks right now. We would need a center, but that is a pretty good group of young talent for Giannis to play with. Coby can shoot, Matas is uber talented and has that it factor, and Giddey is a talented young star. Billy D is also a better coach than Rivers, imo, and the Bucks are aging.

Hope not KD cause while still very good, is injury prone and I don't think can carry a team far anymore. I would take VJ and even Tre Johnson over Ace as I just question Ace's motor.

Honestly, if I were PHO or MIL, I would heavily discount the #3 pick. I don't think that #2 would get either deal done...I think #1 would, but then we probably wouldn't trade it.

Giddey would need to go if they got Giannis somehow.

I think Ace Bailey is a great talent but also very raw. He is one of the youngest players in the draft as well. I can see him as either being a superstar or bust so definitely high risk / high reward type of player. I think at 3 it is between him and V J Edgecombe. I agree it is Cooper Flagg being the best prospect by a lot and then Dylan Harper and after that probably Bailey and Edgecombe.

People keep saying that because Ace is young.
HIs floor is actually strong because of his motor and his defense. He has great anticipation and IQ and his length plays.
