Surely 5th time is the charm! Can AKME trade the untradable man?! Probably not.

Unfortunately there's not many guys that it even starts to make sense for. My methodology has been to look at the guys making more than him who's teams probably do not particularly want them and who also have expiring deals.

The list of guys is basically Khris Middleton and Terry Rozier.

Not sure if there is a deal to be made, but if there is I'm guessing Vuc + either Ayo, Terry, Ball or Carter for one of Rozier or Middleton and maybe a 2nd round pick, probably in a three team deal.

Always a fun topic.

I think that our available move with Vuc is to get rid of him and extend $21M of expiring contract by a year by taking on a some role-player on a worse deal.

It would be great to somehow turn Vuc as salary filler in a deal to bring back another player, but IMO there are no teams who would both value Vuc and have the space to take him.

Vuc is as mentioned tough to move. His salary isn't that much in todays NBA but any team that needs him has no space or anything that makes sense to trade really.

Similar to Lavine, KC said there was initially plenty of interest but then teams found out the Bulls wanted salary relief. I don't think the Bulls will want any more salary coming back which will limit it to other expirings which drastically narrows down all trade possibilities.

I'd be surprised if Chicago takes on more salary because AK has been meticulous about keeping the roster almost completely empty for 2026.

Nurkic/#33 for Vuc
Char gets an awesome back up to Williams, who misses a lot of games

Bulls save a bit of $ and get a high 2nd to play with. It also makes our defense better (Collins/Smith is much better). It also frees up shots for our young kids. Nurkic is a fine 3rd center who's expiring and can play when needed

Not bad, especially considering how deep this draft is. You could legitimately walk away with Jase Richardson, Danny Wolfe, Hansen Yang, or Pettiford at that pick.

Why does CHA do it? They are giving up potentially useful pick for not much of an upgrade.

If we cant get a cheap expiring or just picks, just let him stay until trade deadline..

A GS trade makes too much sense.

Maybe Kuminga would take a one year inflated deal to prove himself in our high pace offense.

Maybe they don't, but they've been rebuilding forever and have to start winning more games to service Ball and help his progression in the league. Vuc is better than Nurkic, and extremely durable --- something that team has had a ton of issues with. They also already have a ton of young players... I'm not sure if bringing in three rookies is the smartest thing to do (not saying trading for Vuc is smart either to be clear).

Seems like a really lateral move. Doesn't clear a roster spot but instead adds one for a fringe projected player, and we already need one before a trade.

Maybe it's helpful to force Billy's hand by eliminating Vuc as an option, but I'd prefer to trade for a quick guard that can shoot to backup Coby at the 1 spot, or maybe a 4. We're super crowded with mediocrity on real contracts right now:

5: Vuc, Collins, Smith
4: Matas
3: Giddey, Patrick
2: Huerter, Ball
1: Coby, Ayo

That's really 10 guys who strategically need to play, so even if Smith gets minutes at the 4, we already need to bump one of the above guys from the rotation just to get our #12 pick some court time. Let alone Phillips, Terry, Carter, or #45.

As far as I'm concerned we should mostly only be concentrating on deals where Vuc or Collins gets moved along with either Huerter, Ball, or Ayo for a higher priced player on a similarly short deal for a guy that has something we need, like 3 point shooting. Depends on who we draft at #12 I guess. I'd have included Terry, Phillips, and Carter but no one would want them enough to take on Vuc or Collins.

Vooch's value plummeted. Still don't know why AKME didn't ship him off earlier.

Because they overvalued him.

If there is a trade for an expiring and a 2nd I'm doing that now, before his 3 ball regresses again.

I’d do any of those.

I struggle to come up with a logical Vuc trade because he’d be easy to target on defense in playoff games, so I don’t know why good teams would want him until they exhaust all other options to improve first.

Spurs and Dubs make the most sense IMO.

Don’t want Kuminga.

The NBA over time has certainly displayed that no player is untradeable.

Still, it's hard to see a market for Vuc. Especially one where I'm happy with what the Bulls get back in a trade (aka us trading for someone like Beal or Ayton).

I still think we could see a Vuc buyout this summer depending how badly he wants to be on a contender, and how much money he's willing to sacrafice on the buyout (i do think he could get signed for decent money - 8-12mm/year] - which seems contradictory to not having a trade market but somehow seems true)
