Chicago bulls : What is the plan?

Post#1 » by thomas1897 » Tue Jul 22, 2025 4:29 pm

Do the Bulls have a purpose? Is there a plan? Who is the leader of this group? Does management have an agenda, or do they care about the team culture? Does anyone have an answer? I am confused.

I don’t know if the Bulls have a plan but AI does for the current group. There’s a great article that someone did where they created a bulls GM that is AI. The main objective that they gave the AI was to win a championship in the next 10 years. All salary data, historical stats, etc. was uploaded, and the AI proceeded to classify the bulls players into three different tiers.

Cornerstone role player, trade worthy and trade now.

Matas is our number 1 asset, giddy is also a keeper, and Julian Phillips I believe was in that top tier.

AnyWho, I am not in any way associated with the author but I thought it was an awesome watch for those interested in AI and the bulls.

Next time the cult's spaceship lands we'll all be wearing black Starburys.

Chat GPT says...
Here’s how I’d have reshaped the Chicago Bulls in the 2025 offseason—based strictly on their actual roster at that time, while pivoting from mediocrity toward either legit contention or a full rebuild:

Core Moves I Would Make

1. Lock in Josh Giddey

Re-signing restricted free agent Josh Giddey would be the priority. He elevated his game after the All‑Star break—averaging near a triple-double and becoming the first Bull since MJ with multiple triple-doubles in a season . A fair, team-friendly extension is worth it to keep him as the franchise floor-general.

2. Trade Nikola Vučević (Expiring Contract)

Vucević’s expiring $21.5M contract makes him a valuable trade chip. I’d shop him for a second-rounder or young rotation piece—valuable flexibility without long-term liability .

3. Move Another Veteran (White or Dosunmu)

With a crowded guard rotation (Giddey, Tre Jones, Huerter, Ball, Dosunmu, White), I’d explore trading Coby White or Ayo Dosunmu, both drawing league interest . Getting assets in return helps fund either a trade-up or future free agency.

Draft Strategy (Pick No. 12)

With the Bulls owning the No. 12 pick in 2025, plus future first-rounders secured through 2031, I’d have two main paths:
• Trade up: Combine the 2025 pick and maybe a future asset to move into late top‑10 to draft a high-upside big like Khaman Maluach, who fits alongside Giddey and adds rim defense .
• Stay and pick BPA: If a guard or wing of special talent like Derik Queen or Asa Newell falls to 12, they’d be priority selections, preventing further guard congestion .

Also, I’d take advantage of late target Drake Powell, who impressed Bulls brass in workouts and could become a steal if drafted or signed .

Roster from 2025–26 Onward

After those moves:
• Core: Giddey (PG), Tre Jones (backup PG), new rookie (e.g. Maluach/Newell)
• Rotation Guards/Wings: Huerter (3-and-D), Patrick Williams (rehabbing into role), Matas Buzelis (All‑Rookie Second: 13.3 PPG), Dalen Terry
• Veteran interior depth: Zach Collins
• Trades for flexibility: Vučević spot cleared, Ball possibly moved for defensive frontcourt asset like Daniel Gafford (per one mock plan) .
