So more than discussing Okoro, I'd like to discuss AKME's pro player scouting.

This isn't the draft. Okoro had 5 full seasons of NBA game tape. It overwhelmingly looked exactly like this. Except that for the last couple years he was playing with the benefit of being on a much more talented team.

So how did the Bulls look at this guy and get so enthralled with him? Not just to trade for him, but then to spend all summer talking him up like he was a major addition and gifting him a starting role even though he seems clearly inferior to 3 or 4 other guys?

No? It's been less than one game.

My guy, there is a 29 page thread discussing this bum.

It’s actually A good litmus test. If you spot anyone in that thread talking about all the positives Okoro brings, you can assume they are a social media plant paid by the organization.

People just like to be miserable. Okoro has a role and is good in it.

Maybe revisit this in, like, ten games.

Didn't get to watch anything but end of 1st. So don't know what his eye test looked like. His 23 min statline is pretty bare, only 0-2. 5 boards and 4 assist in 23 minutes, although he didn't make any buckets, he didn't waste many shots.

Curious how he played in flow, how he defended. Cuz he was a +17 in just 23 min, so that at least seems positive.

I'm very intrigued by this Bulls team. More so than any prior season (specifically the word, "intrigued," I've been more excited about Lavine and DeMar teams probably).

Feels like this could really be a team that's more than the sum of its parts. Maybe they'll sync really well. I'm excited to see how Okoro fits into a Bogans' type role.

Aquarius. Recently he has taken up pilates. He also enjoys activities related to boating, such as fishing, spearfishing, snorkeling, and scuba diving, and he is an avid reader

Issac Noscoreo was a nick name by Cavs fans. It was a nod to his defense and comedy to his offense.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

Players like this are always useful, but in today's NBA this archetype of player needs a medium volume 3pt shot. It's not optional, it's mandatory. It's not only about %, but volume too, he needs to hoist 4-5 every game or else he frankly shouldn't play at all. 35%+
Bogans could shoot, wish he did more but that's past...
Also u don't need more than 2 of this on a roster, as u might have one as a starter SF/SG, the other is back up.
So idk what we doing with Phillips and Terry. No place or minutes for them, as they already had their chances and showed nothing

I was saying that he is the meh est of meh players ever. Bogans is a really good comparison for those that brought it up. He isn't going to outright going to kill you because he plays some defense and is well aware of his offensive limitations but he doesn't add a ton.

If Ball ends up playing 65 games, this will end up being yet another losing trade for AKME.

First result was a disaster offensively. Even on the Buzelis poster, Okoro wasn't ready for the pass and got bailed out from an awkward drive on the baseline.

I'll give it time though. Per 36, he's been at 4-5 attempted threes the past two seasons. So, it's not like he doesn't take the shot. Plus, his defense will be there throughout the season.

He hasn't been good. But so was Huerter early on. Not that I have high expectations for the guy, he's a role player, but presumably he can be useful in spots.

Strong defensive effort for sure. He deserves credit for slowing Cade.

0 points though…

He more or less shut down a supertar all night long last night. Not sure what everyone is upset about here. He was great on defense the vast majority of the game. Cade Cunningham looked like he was going to cry at half time. Even at the end when Cade was scoring, his defense was solid positionally. He had a few really great passes, and while he didn't score he also didn't take a bunch of bad shots or anything. I'm not sure what you expected out of Okoro, but the Bulls get their asses kicked last night if he didn't play, so not sure what the complaints are.

I'm not suggesting Okoro was a stud, but he was good in his role and just fine for an 8M dollar player. Like in comparison, Jalen Smith was basically unplayable.

Last season there was almost no statistical difference between Patrick Williams, Dalen Terry, and Julian Phillips. So naturally, we added Okoro who is equally as unimpressive and now have four guys who can take turns underwhelming you.

Okoro had the best +/- of anyone last night. +17 in 22 minutes. His defense on Cade was OUTSTANDING. He is the lockdown perimeter defender this team has sorely been missing.

Its easy to look at the box score and see he didnt score but his impact was felt far beyond that. The other 4 guys on the floor with him can get buckets. That’s not his assignment. He’ll have better nights offensively but I love what I saw from Okoro in all other aspects.
