Hinrich For McGrady Rumor?

Mike Wilbon just mentioned it, almost in passing on PTI (they were wishing Kirk a happy b-day), he said 'there have been rumors of Kirk to Houston for TMac, with others including Nocioni involved'.
If anyone watches the replay, it's in the final segment of the show, Hinrich is the first topic of the segment.
The only question I have for Wilbon is "why hasn't anyone else heard this rumor"?

I'm calling "B.S. of a casual media observer" on that one.

Houston really liked Thabo and would have taken him over Gay had they not traded for Battier.
It would be nice to dump Thabo as well.

After the alleged Hinrich + Nocioni for McGrady trade:
Point Guards: Rafer Alston, Mike James, Aaron Brooks, Steve Francis, Kirk Hinrich & Luther Head
The last thing Houston needs is another point guard.

...and not a single true 1 out of the lot.

No, I was watching PTI and he did mention it. Just a stupid rumor though.

yeah but they could get rid of some of those guys. Hinrich provides a longterm solution at PG for them. alon with Noc and the Bulls draft pick this year and/or Thabo, it's an appealing deal.
my only question is, how exactly do we trade two BYC players?? it seems kinda hard. but i guess if a third team steps in it could happen.

Very true. But they cannot run a single one of them as a full-time shooting guard. They would have an extremely small back-court and no real offensive threat at the 2.

Don't diss Mike Wilbon, he speaks the word of the Gospel.

Wilbon reads the articles and stuff just like everyone else, so thats why he said "rumors." He didn't say "My Heavy Sources within the league are saying McGrady to Chicago." He just said rumors. And that's exactly what it was.

Even if its B.S. it seems that Kirk is available.

McGrady makes a ton of money and Kirk is BYC along with Nocioni. It would be near impossible to move Nocioni and Kirk in the same deal.
McGrady + Mike James for
Ben Wallace + Kirk Hinrich
works, and I could see why Houston would do that. I'm not sure I would do it given McGrady's injury issues and seeming problems with never being happy where he is at.

Agreed, the problem is that we all read the same articles as Wilbon, and none of us had heard this particular rumor.
That's why I'm wondering where he came up with the rumor, I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that he didn't Sam Smith the idea...

Everyone is available. Just not at that low price people expect. Paxson isn't a fool. He's not going to trade our players when their value is down the crapper.
IMO, Tracy McGrady is 2 years away from having lesser value than Kirk if he continues to have injury problems. This is beginning to look an awful lot like cronic issues.

I probably agree with that. That being said, a perfect player with a perfect record isn't going to get traded. Is this the time to take a chance or is this another Jalen Rose redux? The world may never know.

Seems like a great deal on paper for both teams. Houston play always seems to work smoother when its either only McGrady or Yao on the court, yet they don't play when they are on the court together. Wallace would give a big body beside Yao to (pontentially) grab rebounds and be his enforcer. Kirk gives them a defensive minded guard who can hit open shots, and pass the ball but wouldn't dominate the ball like Yao.
But that being said, McGrady on the Bulls doesn't make a whole lot of sense either. We'd have a strong scoring back court of Gordon, McGrady and Deng, which would leave no scoring options up front. Just having Gordon and McGrady would make you curious as to who gets the most shots each and every night, then you'd have to add in Deng who needs touches also. I think it would be a fight for who scores on this team, and a recipe for diaster. But that being said, you don't pass up on a Star like McGrady.. But, i would be weary..
