Isiah Talking Titles In New York
January 3, 2008
Sports Illustrated -

Isiah Thomas is still talking about winning championships -- with many of the same players that currently comprise one of the worst teams in the NBA.

And the same coach.

"I know people will laugh even more at me, but I'm hell bent on getting this accomplished and making sure that we get it done," Thomas said Wednesday night the New York Knicks ' 107-97 loss to the Sacramento Kings . "And I'm not leaving until we get it done."

The Knicks fell to 8-22, last in the Atlantic Division and ahead of only Miami in the Eastern Conference.

he has destroyed the historic franchise and has left no hope for its fans.

This man has totally lost it. Put him in some good clinic for mental health. And I realy don't wanna be in Knicks fan place. He is making all their fan base idiots.

The more he talks the (even) more I hope he doesn't get fired.

The captain goes down with the ship.

IT has no more blood in his veins. He is running on 100% pure, hi-test kool-aid.

What does that mean in this case? Can they take the franchise away from New York? I mean how much further down can the ship go?

I love how this thread doesn't even warrant 'OT' status anymore, the obsession bulls fans have with the Knicks truly is pure.

The Boise Knickerbockers? Hmmm...I like the sound of that.

In an era when coaches and GMs are fired on a whimsey, often for problems like injuries which are out of their control, it is refreshing to see a sure handed, long term view in management. It takes a man to stand up and make a statement like Dolan has and I applaud him for this. Regardless of the actual sense in the franchises decisions over the past few years, Dolan continues to show a steadfastness that has alluded many a leader throughout the course of time.

Agreed. It reminds me of the steadfastness of one Major General George Pickett as exhibited one fateful day in the hills and fields outside a small town in Pennsylvania known as Gettysburg.

I tip my cap to you, Mr. Dolan. Your stick-to-it-iveness is a rare commodity indeed.

Same here. I'm enjoying the Isiah era waaaay too much. I'm not even a huge Knick hater, but this has been tremendous entertainment.

I was thinking more of the so-called "Charge of the Light Brigade" at Balaclava during the Crimean War...but same concept.

I'm a Knick fan and I don't feel like the actions of a (Please Use More Appropriate Word) (Isiah Thomas) reflects on me or on other Knick fans. After all, they have no pull as to what happens in the Knicks organization. Revert to the lack of success so far in the "Fire Isiah" chants which ring throughout the Garden at each home game.

I just love Zeke he must have something on Dolan and does the NBA test the coaches for drugs.

I think he meant that, when things get that bad, normally good posters break down into trying to justify something right in the organization. Like a rudderless ship set adrift, the crew turns on itself.

This is just so damn depressing. As a die hard Knick fan I wouldn't wish this on anyone.
