Don't kill the messenger. This just needed to be posted here. We have a big debate going on our board.

We need some Bulls fans opinions.

I don't agree with bulls6 on this. I like Bogut, but I can't see Paxson trading Deng for him, nor do I think he should. Some reports argued that Paxson was unwilling to include Deng for Gasol.

Theres no way I would trade Lu for Bogut. And thats about all I'm going to add.

Lu is better than Bogut by a significant amount right now, and is younger. The fact that he is 7 feet tall does not impress me.

I'm also curious about how Bulls fans view this (totally hypothetical) trade. I asked Bulls6 if it was safe of me to assume that he was in the minority of Bulls fans who would like this deal and he answered in the affirmative...
Personally I don't think there is any way the Bulls would consider this and that it would be foolish of the Bucks to decline it if Paxson would actually accept it.
Input is definitely welcome in that thread.

The last time we played Milwaukee, despite his bad hair cut, Bogut looked pretty good. I don't know where I fall regarding this trade, so I guess it's equal value.

That would make us 3 deep at both big man positions with players that all make me go...
"Meh."
I like Bogut ok as a player, but moving Deng for him leaves us thin at the SF and overloaded at the PF/C positions with no real standout player. This would essentially require an immediate move of at least two out of Thomas/Noah/Wallace/Gray/Nocioni for a real SF.

Probably should point at this point that Bogut is quite bad at almost everything. I think this has been overlooked.
I don't think he's quite bad at everything. I feel that my assessment of "meh" is very fair.
I also have a very strong

reaction to him.

Well I don't watch nearly the number of Bucks game as I should... that's not entirely true any number of Bucks games is probably too many... but he strikes me as very mediocre.
It's hard to say if he'd be better if either of his guards were even so much as bad passers, but we don't exactly have elite point guards in Chicago either so I guess the situation wouldn't be all that much better.

Who can we shoot if it's not the messenger? I'd like to shoot someone right now after reading that.

I've heard Bogut's argument that he isn't particularly happy that Milwaukee's offense is guard oriented but if he was scoring @ a higher clip, wouldn't he BE the offenses main focus?
I don't know I like Deng but I also like a future frontcourt :
C Bogut / Gray
F Noah
F TT

Maybe shoot the homer Bucks fans who are claiming they wouldn't do this deal?

Too bad Deng is better than every player in that frontcourt.

The one thing that is a plus, with Bogut and Noah upfront, it gets rid of the chances that Andres get most of his minutes in the post.

I like Bogut but no way would I do Deng for him.
What I would be willing to do is:
Noah for Bogut
Nocioni for Bogut
Wallace for Bogut +filler
Do any of these sound appealing to Bucks fans?

Actually that story is historically wrong.
There was a Persian messenger kicked into a well - but it was by Athens 10 years earlier than the Sparta story. Poetic license
I think Deng is extremely over-rated by this board, You guys really like him - but he has not shown any mental toughness at all. He does not call for the ball like a leader should - and the contract thing has upset him to no end.
Trade his butt while he can bring a good return
Now, maybe Bogut is not as good as I imagine.
But I am willing to trade Deng for a decent Center.

One of the biggest complaints on Bogut is that he is not mentally tough, and is often passive and uninspired.
