That is the day that various contracts become guaranteed for the whole year.

Teams will be releasing players this week.

For the Bulls, only JamesOn Curry & Demetris Nichols need to be concerned

By the way, JamesOn's 22nd birthday is tomorrow (Jan 7). Nichols is 23.

If the Bulls like a player released by another team, these are the 2 suspects to be waived by the Bulls

Nichols is older than Deng.

So is Joakim Noah. So is Aaron Gray.

Interesting.

That goes to show that Paxson is still willing to develop him and that he'll most likely be here to stay for the season at the very least. Unless he is involved in a trade of course..

I agree, but I was sort of surprised. With Duhon struggling so much I was hoping he'd ge a chance. I guess Nichols will be brought to help fill in for Deng, but with Thabo and Khryapa on board we have enough options.

he's still being paid this year and next - by Dallas

he is tall, thus Nelson has no need of him

Is that Curry assignment official? Is nichols staying too?

It's not official and I was just speculating on Nichols. The Tribune had a quick blurb that said Curry will be sent back to the NBDL on his bday.

Bulls can have 2 guys at Iowa in D-League

Curry seems to be safe - only Nichols to worry about now

Nichols could be a much better player to have on the bench than Thabo and Kryahapa. Nichols was a stud at Syracuse, how come he did not get drafted in the 1st round?
