Chicago Coaching Change
You seen the Bulls coach was fired? I seen that coming.
You can see it coming, especially this year and a little bit of last year, that he wasn

I hate that guy. The sad thing is he's likely already got a contract to take Barkley's spot on "Inside" when he retires. He's got the qualifications: Render an opinion on everything regardless of being in a position to do so intelligently.
If TNT isn't interested, maybe FoxNews could give him a segment as their sports specialist.

His career arc while still in the league may resemble Barkley's as well. For his ego's sake, just hope when he is getting old and slow, he doesn't also get a Pippen come on the team and tell the world how it is not surprising he has never won a title due to his attitude.

I like Gilbert, but then I like Barkley too. I don't take either too seriously.
I think Gilbert's thought on this has a pretty high degree of accuracy though even if he's talking out his behind (which may or may not be true). It appears at this point that Skiles was entirely mistake oriented. He did not seem to focus as much on what you could do well as much as what you did wrong. His substitution patterns were based on players who made fewer mistakes rather than players who generated more wins.
I think after awhile, that can get really old when all you hear about is what you screwed up about this time. After 3-4 years of that, I think the message would get old too.

IMO, Washington could get a nice package for him. So why not let Caron butler play the role of point forward and surrond him with a nice supporting cast?

I'm not saying he's not accurate. I just find his methods distateful as a general matter. Basically, he tasted some additional popularity with his blog and has decided that its appropriate for him to just spout off about everything and everyone in the NBA.
I don't like it. I think its disrespectful. He's basically turning into Rush Limbaugh without the drug addiction.

Arenas + Pippen = the best thing since Jet + Barkley

I said this about a month ago. It couldn't be more obvious that Gilbert is worth a hell of a lot more to Washington in trade than he is on the court.
For example, imagine if they traded him to the Clippers for Chris Kaman?
There are lots of teams that would foolishly part with valuable pieces to get a "sexy" player like Gilbert.

I don't hate Gilbert nor would I consider myself a fan, still I think he made some good points mostly, alongside with some bad points too.
I'm a Barkley fan though. I guess it's how seriously you take Chuck, he is for entertainment purposes only. If you are looking for accurate analysis you will come away disappointed. It's funny how worked up some people get over Chucks comments.
He is flat out funny.

Gilbert for Kaman, is that a joke? I know Kaman is a very serviceable center and is playing amazing this year but please. Gilbert is amazing, the guy rarely misses a shot in the clutch and his hit more game winning shots by himself then our entire team in the last 3 years.

Have you seen how good Kaman has become?...regardless of how much of a caveman he looks like, the man can play...he's a lot more than just 'serviceable'.

Exactly. I laugh at Barkley and think 'you bleeping moron' (in a friendly sorta way) when he goes off. Barkley just doesn't care, he's got a fun job and no one takes him as a serious member of the media. People here get too fired up when it's obvious that Chuck is clearly shooting from the hip and doesn't give a damn if what he says is accurate.

No, its not a joke at all. Caron Butler is better than Gilbert Arenas. And from what I've seen, he sets up that offense better instead of just selfishly gunning shots 4 seconds into the shot clock. Give him the reigns as point forward and the primary decision-maker for the team.
Add Kaman and his 18/14/2/3 (you call that "servicable"?) talent to a team that sorely lacks an inside presence, and you've got the makings of an offensively balanced roster with improved defense and rebounding.
Bear in mind that without Arenas this year the Wizards have a better winning percentage and have a +/- against their opponents that is up considerably from last year and is giving up an opponents' fg% of .443 instead of last season's horrifying .517.
With Arenas, the Wizards don't scare me at all. They are a pretender. Trade Arenas for a guy like Kaman who makes a ton more sense for them, and I'm worried as a Bulls fan.

Hmm.. Arenas for Bynum?

I'd trade Heinrich and Wallace for Arenas!
In about 1 second...

As far as Gilbert. I love the guy. I almost don't care what he says, because it's so rare to have an athlete (especially a star athlete) who really says anything at all.

Who is Heinrich?
Is he related to Paxon?

I like Gilbert Arenas, even though I still hold hate for him on that winning shot in Game 5 of the ECQF 3 years ago.
To add some lightheartedness to this:
John Paxson to Gilbert: "He's selfish....He's an Idiot...He better stay out of our business. He better stay out of CHICAGO BULLS BUSINESS." (I'm trying to remember what Ken Williams said about Frank Thomas, its an audio clip played a lot Waddle & Silvy).

While I generally agree with Duck's sentiments when you look at Arenas the player doing this, his blogs are far more intelligent and interesting than many of the sports writers out there.
Guys like Sam Smith, Charlie Rosen, Scoop Jackson and Bill Simmons are pure trash when they actually discuss basketball, yet they have prominent media positions.
