Let's face it, the Bulls will never win a championship with this team. It's time for Pax to make a move.

It's been time. We need to trade some defense for offense.

12 in the 4th quarter tonight... against the Knicks. :o

The Knicks are not good and did not play that good. But a game like tonight shows the Bulls are quite capable of beating themselves simply because its so hard for them to score, especially when BG goes cold. At some point you cannot play good enough defense (not that we were) to stop a team from putting up points on the board.

I agree. You don't trade. You tank. You'll likely get a top 5 pick. There will be 5 good guys coming out. We need a play making 2 or 3. Or a beast down low (i.e. Beasley).

Too much pressure for Ben to score though he is strictly a scorer? Its not as though we ask him to do much more than be a scorer, yet the team is putting too much on him. Its not like he is some multi-dimensional player that plays well on both ends of the court and that can make an impact on the game when he isn't scoring, which he can not. So i don't see how we're putting too much pressure on him. He was coasting throughout the game, and was shooting well, and in the clutch he faltered. Its not his fault nor was it on any individual player, it was the teams fault of down playing to the Knicks level.

Yes it is time for Pax to make a move we need a superstar player and a true go to guy. Right now this team is full of streaky jump shooters and role players.

Ben Wallace- One dimensional(defense) he provides nothing on offense and one of the worst freethrow shooters.

Ben Gordon- One dimensional(Scorer) Awful at defense and is turnover prone. Can't handle the ball well and when pressure on he fails. He would be a good third option on a great team. But right now is the number 1 option on this weak team and that's not going to work because he's a streaky shooter.

Chris Duhon- A big liability on the court. He has no offensive game what so ever. A nice backup but he should never start.

Kirk Hinrich- He just recently broke out the biggest slump that any nba player has ever had. He's a streaky shooter, his defense has hit a brick wall this year. Don't have a true position. On a great team he would be a backup combo guard.

Luol Deng- Wow can't believe the whole summer was this big hype about Deng he's going to be the franchise player for the bulls he going to be a superstar averaging 25 ppg and so on. Yeah right this guy has not tooken a step foward at all. He's a nice player but you got to be kidding if you think Luol is going to lead the bulls anywhere. He dissapears to much to be a go to guy.

Andres Nocioni- Streaky jump shooter, who is to an extreme chucker. Noc is the true chucker. The guy is not talented and he's also a foul magnet.

These guy's are just awful- Tyrus, Thabo, Noah, Gray, Viktor, Griffin.

The only player who is a true player is Joe Smith.

Any moves should be in service of the "Get LeBron in 2010" plan.

I'm serious.

That would be my sole focus. Screw all this Gasol talk. He can't take us anywhere. At least not without an elite perimeter player (which we don't have, nor do we have any prospects of getting one).

We have always needed to make a move. I don't care anymore, lets move and trade Deng for Gasol. We gotta do something.

my 2 cents:

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=285~3224~788~3032~996~1778~981&teams=13~29~13~29~4~4~29&te=&cash=

Bulls roll out:

pg - hinrich
sg - gordon
sf - deng
pf - gasol
c - wallace

Memphis sits near the top of a lottery loaded with guards:

pg - mike conley
sg - rose/mayo/gordon
sf - rudy gay
pf - tyrus thomas
c - joakim noah

Lakers get a better front court player in exchange for providing Memphis an expiring contract.

Agreed. Trade Hinrich and Nocioni, I don't care how old and crusty the player is as long as it expires in time for LeBron to save us.

Apparently we don't need to tank, we can just score 12 points in a quarter agains the friggin Knicks.

Duhon, Thabo, Griffin, Tyrus and Noah should be able to score 12 points in a quarter vs the Knicks.

This thread is kind of funny to me. 18 people voted "yes" despite the fact that there is no particular move being discussed.

I voted "no" because unless I see the details of a trade that makes sense for the long term good of this team, then I'm opposed to the idea of making drastic moves. For example, I'm opposed to the T-Mac scenarios being discussed in another thread.

Hinrich
Gordon
Deng
Thomas
Noah

Is a very strong core 5 players to build with in my opinion. I think the issue isn't so much one of making a "big trade" to shake things up - not that I'm opposed to a huge number of specific trades, I'm simply opposed to the generic idea of "a trade" - its an issue of changing direction.

Its time to commit to the youth. If there is a trade that makes sense in that context, then I'm all for it.

The teams current goal of "making the playoffs" is possibly the worse case scenario for me as a real fan.

That goal may work but we all know this isn't a championship team and that's why I say make a trade but make one that deals away the OLD duplicate talent.

Let's see what we can get for Wallace and maybe Noc and play the young guys and develop them while putting ourselves in a position for a good draft pick if we don't make the playoffs.

With this plan either we make the playoffs with the young guys playing a lot and know what we have in Tyrus, Noah and Thabo or we don't make the playoffs and get a good pick and maybe then make a deal.

So yes, trade Wallace and Griffin if they are worth anything and then trade them even if they aren't and play the young guns.

I will note one thing though, history suggests that when Paxson is frustrated with something he takes decisive action. The criticism that he's slow to act when he's relatively happy with something may or may not have merit, but one thing is for certain: When he's pissed he's not afraid to break out the wrecking ball.

I have no doubt that John Paxson is extremely frustrated right now. I expect him to do something significant to define the direction of this franchise by draft day and possibly by the trade deadline.

How about Dahntay Jones?

he's a 6'6" guard who can drive and dunk and gets to the FT line. he's battling for time and seems like he'd be an easy pick-up and won't cost Paxson one of his 'core' guys.

just please get any guard who can dunk and draw the foul and put him in the starting line-up instead of Duhon.

otherwise i'm hoping were saving $$$ for a big push at Baron Davis, Arenas or Jefferson this off season.

well fans booing their home team is never good. you lose fans, you lose profit. i dont think pax has a choice BUT to make a move, w/ JR at the helm.
it was fun in years past to cheer for the hardworking kids. but now, the expectations are too high. it was all a big tease, imo. now fans demand more. i feel like they are getting sick of these players. a change is what they, we need.

I'm willing to see Duhon/Noc/Hinrich/Thabo/Wallace be traded. I would really like them to hold on the rest of their players.

I haven't seen much of him. But the games i have seen he seems like a good player, but is having difficult time finding PT. I just wonder why
