Like it or not, with Wallace

Nice list. I like but do we move veterans for those guys?

I can see your logic. Look what happened with Beno Udrih. This guy was dealt twice this season for literally nothing. That's worked out pretty well. I'm sure for every Udrih there's two guys who had no impact, but you can get lightning in a bottle.
A few of those guys, Wright, Bass, etc, have teams that have learned to value them. A few others maybe not. Out of your list, I'd lean on Garcia or Zaza.

I think a few of those guys at least are completely unavailable, but I have to admit with all the craziness around my life this year, I haven't followed the general NBA anywhere near as much as I have in the past.
ZaZa was a guy I really wanted a couple years ago, and you're right, based on his minutes and the Hawks roster you'd think he'd be available, but how would he fit in with us now? We can't even get Tyrus or Noah burn as it is, but we're going to add another average big man? Your list does focus largely on guards which, I agree, at the moment is the area we need to attack.
If we trade for an all-star type guy we want a big man. If we trade for an average or potential guy we want a guard.

Out of that list, which is def. guard heavy, McCants imo, is the more intriguing. However, I think he's still under contract till 2009 or 2010. Plus, is he just having a good year because he has to with what little the T-Wolves have on their roster. I do know his personality is a bit sketchy (i.e. moody).
CJ Miles, don't know too much about him, but I have seen him when the Jazz have been on national t.v. He seems decent. I wouldn't put him in a clutch/tight game situation to have us win the game on a last shot.

i was clammering for zaza for quite some time but my thinkings changed sorta like doug was saying. At this point i say get a big man that's more than a role player if you're gonna get one. Otherwise go with the rooks. After Othella Harrington, Darius Songaila, Mike Sweetney, PJ Brown, and Joe Smith (Although smith is actually sweet) i'm tired of average big men. Either go with the rooks or go with someone great..not good.

Cliff Levingston loves the idea of trading Nocioni and change for expirings and Cook. He's indeed a good baller.
Shannon Brown would also be a nice cheap pickup to help bolster the guard spot and add some scoring capability. Not to mention, Shannon went to Proviso East.

David Harrison (25): The guy has always shown offensive flashes in the post. He has also been a pretty good shot blocker in limited playing time, averaging just under a block in 14.5 career mpg. If a team committed starter minutes to him it

I just think Paxson needs to grow some balls and make a impact trade. Get a Gasol or Tmac. We know what our problem is. Yeah some of those guys mentoined would be nice and try to get one if you can, but we can't get away from needing that impact player.
I just dont get Paxson. Is it really teams asking too much for our players or is it Him thinking our players are worth more than there are? We see the T-wolves deal, we really couldn't top that? They got one player for Garnett, forget the small trades Paxson and grow some balls

What makes me upset is that most of the players you mentioned average more mpg than players we should be developing. TT has star potential but averages less than burn than Cook. I would go for Cook. Miami is in win now and would probably take a veteran back. Noc for Cook & Williams? Fillers may be needed. Would Miami want Wallace?

Pax offered Deng, the pick that became Thomas and Tyson for KG a year before he was traded. What else could Pax have done?

So something like this?
Trade ID #4402995
Tyrus + Joakim + Thabo + Nocioni for Gasol + Navarro.
1. Hinrich, Duhon
2. Gordon, Navarro, Griffin
3. Deng, Griffin, Khryapa
4. Gasol, Smith
5. Wallace, Gray
Cause that's along the lines of what they'll be looking for right now. You think that team can take down the Celtics in the next few years?

I would hate for the bulls to trade TT or Noah right now. I agree with Cliff. Duhon, Noc, and Wallace are the only players I would trade this season. I would trade Smith if it was necessary. Focus on getting young this season. That is what they should have done the summer they had cap room anyway. Time to take back mistakes and retool for another important summer.

great post, some great names you bring up.
going thru the list made me realize how good the 2005 draft is going to turn out to be. figures too, the year the Bulls got NO PICKS.
Daequan Cook - INTERESTED but MIA will not move him, esp to us. He and Wade with a new big man should restore that team.
Shannon Brown -INTERESTED but i think CLE sees him as a replacement for Hughes and likes the idea of LeBron, Gibson and Brown. Loved him at MSU.
Jose Barea - too small
Brandon Bass - isn't he what we expect Tyrus or Noah to produce if we give them minutes? (2005 pick)
Francisco Garcia - Theus coached him in college and no way he lets him go. he's a potential star in the NBA. (2005 pick)
David Harrison - Why not develop Aaron Gray instead
Linas Klieza - INTERESTED but i don't think Denver will trade him yet. (2005 pick)
Rashard McCants - INTERESTED but i wouldn't trade him if i was MIN (2005 pick)
CJ Miles - INTERESTED but i wouldn't trade him. Imagine UTAH with him, DeRon and Brewer. No Fair. (2005 pick)
Zaza Pachulia - Why not develop Aaron Gray instead
Salim Stoudamire - too short and doesn't seem to rebound. (2005 pick)
Antoine Wright - INTERESTED but i think NJ has plans for him. (2005 pick)

Thanks for the props guys. I'll just write one large general reply.
It's true some of these guys are probably unavailable, but those guys are worth monitoring as it may be difficult for their current teams to retain them once they are free-agents. Wright, Miles, and Bass may be examples of this.
Some of these guys can be had for some combo of expiring contracts (Duhon/Khryapa) and 2nd round pick(s). I think Zaza, Stoudamire, S.Brown, and Harrison fit into this list.
Other guys may be acquired in parts of bigger trades for Noce, Hinrich, or Smith. I haven't looked into how this would work exactly, but I'd personally love it if we could trade Hinrich for Cook and J.Williams as a base for a trade.
The list is guard heavy, but as of now I think our guards are our biggest weakness. You rarely find big man sleepers and that's because bigs with any potential are usually highly valued. Also, I've grown completely stale on Duhon. He seems like a cool person, and I understand his value to most NBA teams, but with the way we're constructed he may actually hurt us more than he helps us. At this point, wouldn't we be better off with Shannon Brown in the starting lineup, instead of him? I think we would.

I LOVE this thread topic. I agree whole-heartedly with its premise. I got the hook up fuyah.
Hook up #1
Kris Humphries - Sure. Tyrus is our starter; but, who do you want off the bench? Check this list out. Surely, the listing of him as a Centre is questionable, at 6'9", 235 lbs., but, even if you rank him among the PF's, he's still impressive. This is a list of the league leaders in Points per 48 minutes who play the Center position, followed by the PF's. Ok? Here we go:

Sorry man, but that's a disgusting list, and Humphries is buried on the bench behind Bosh and Bargnani. Liked him coming out of Minnesota too. Someone's going to get themselves a nice litte bench player. Outside of Stromile Swift, I'd say everyone on that list is untradable, except Humphries.
More to come.

3-Point Shooting. Ben Gordon's got it. If we put him at PG and had a SG who had it, we could let Deng, Tyrus and Noah flood the paint, where they all excel. Thus, this list:

Okay? A they say on "Fat Pizza", "Fully sick, mate." That list is ATROCIOUS! Not to mention that Steve Blake is on it too. I think we definitely need to be hooking up with Portland. Plus, as I've said in other threads, Ben Wallace's contract ends when Portland needs to re-up Aldridge and Roy. Blake or Jones would do the trick in replacing Duhon.
