Wiretap: Bull to Reviisit Talks With Memphis Over Gasol

Chicago Sun Times -
The Bulls likely will revisit trade talks with the Memphis Grizzlies for 7-foot forward Pau Gasol. Chicagoan Michael Heisley, who owns the Grizzlies, was in Memphis on Tuesday for team meetings and is unhappy with the team's 10-24 record.

"I live in Chicago, and all they talk about up there is getting Pau," Heisley told the Memphis Commercial Appeal, "so he must be pretty valuable. He's a great post guy. But by discussing him, I don't mean we're out there shopping him. If we trade one of our guys, we've got to get a lot back that's good."

The Bulls will get a look tonight at Philadelphia point guard Andre Miller and center Samuel Dalembert, whom the slumping 76ers (14-22) are said to be shopping.

I thought it was the owners won't over the cap? I'm sure they wont take wallace back.

Sweet. It'll be fun talking about this stuff even more. I felt like it was a neglected topic :).

Heisley talks a tough game. It'll be interesting to see if they still want Noce.

I agree I want a trade of Nocioni, Tyrus, Joe for Gasol. The farthest I would go is Nocioni, Gordon, & Thomas for Navarro & Gasol but thats it. Bulls should not give up Hinrich or Deng for Gasol. And definitely not two of the big three.

Deng, Gordon and filler (Smith) would be close, and the Bulls would dump about 20- 25 mil in potential salary next year. That's the kind of deal I would look for (If no Wallace).

The Bulls would save signifigant long term cash under this scenario. IMO both Ownerships would seriously consider this kind of deal (This season).

Deng and Hinrich are not better than Gasol . Plus Kirk Hinrich has played terrible this year . Nobody on this team should be untouchable . This is a 13-20 team .

Gasol can be obtained without trading Wallace - and still keeping under Lux Tax

I am not saying they are untoucable. If Deng is traded I would for a shooting guard- small foward but I wouldn't for a center or power foward. There some trades that Deng shouldn't be involved and others that could & should.

Are you factoring in Deng and Gordon resigning?

I think Wallace would fit well with Gasol anyways. The only concern is that we have at least keep 2 of the big three.

I'm confused how this snippet that quotes the Grizzlies owner saying that (a) it's the Chicago media, not the Memphis people who are doing all the talking about Gasol trades; and (b) that the Grizzlies aren't shopping Gasol -- is somehow turned into the idea that trade talks are being revisited

yep - but not for as much as they want

if gordan takes QO - then it easily will fit

but Nocioni must go in the trade - and either Tyrus or Noah

Hinrich would be better, but memphis needs him even less than Wallace

It's a highly misleading thread title.

And we wonder how NBA rumors spread. :)

Since the Grizz Owner lives in chicago and constantly hears bulls fans begging for Gasol, do you feel it gives him the upper hand in negotiations with paxon. If Pax feels the heat to make a deal, it going to be even tougher to not give up more of our assets.

My feeling is we'll have some problems regarding a new contract with Gordon, so I'd pack him with Nocioni+Joe for Gasol&Filler. That would leave us still with:

Hinrich,Duhon
??,Thabo
Deng,??
Gasol, Ty
Wallace, Noah

I think we just have to find another 2, but that wont cause us that much headache.

The best card that the Bulls have is that Gasol's agent is Arn Tellum....

Arn will do his best to deliver him - IF PAXSON REALLY WANTS HIM

im at the point where I've seen enough of these types of articles that i really dont care anymore. Get it done, im not worrying about it because to be honest I don't think its gonna happen because of Pax.

Some Memphis fans have said that they'd be OK with BG, Noc & Smith for Gasol & Navarro. Much as I would hate to lose BG, I would do that deal.

Then, as I have stated on too many occasions, I would try to get Raja Bell from Phoenix (or perhaps Bonzai Wells from Houston, as a distant 2nd choice) in exchange for Thabo, VK and maybe 1 future draft pick or other consideration.

Kirk/JCN/Curry
Bell/JCN/Kirk/Curry
Deng/Bell/Griff/ Nichols
Gasol/ TT/ Noah
BW/ Gasol/ Noah/ Gray/ TT
