Successful Trade Scenario
Congratulations on a successful trade.

Due to Chicago and San Antonio being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Chicago and San Antonio had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

why for Chicago?
Gets a decent smart playmaker with Vaughan, an experienced leader and sharp shooter like Finley, a nice rebounder with long range shoot in Bonner and a decent center with great defensive skills with Elson. Plus, some nice cap relief for next year and still leaving room for a star trade.

KH/Vaughan
BG/Finley
Deng/Finley
Smith/Bonner/Noah
Wallace/Noah/Elson

why for Spurs?

Spurs love gritty hustling players like Nocioni and playing with Manu and Oberto they play in automatic mode. Plus the loss of Bonner could be compensated by Tyrus developed under Popovich scheme and Gray already looks as a bigger younger Oberto. Duhon doesn't play a big role here, but still an experienced sub for Parker

Parker/Ginobili/Duhon
Barry/Ginobili
Nocioni/Bowen
Duncan/Thomas/Nocioni
Oberto/Duncan/Gray

As you can see there's still room for something like Gasol/Stoudamire for BG/BW/Khryapa or whatever

Obviously Paxson wants to get a ring so bad if he gives away talent to the spurs like this, I guess he feels they owe him one. Thats a bad deal dude.

That trade machine is killing us, perhaps we should start trading some fans

I usually don't have much of a reaction to trades, but this is awful. NOBODY that we recieve will help us. Horry will not leave SA and the other 3 would not break our 9 man rotation. Plus, we give up a decent PG, a young highly saught PF and a decent backup C. Not to mention one of the very few bright spots on our team. I hope you never become a GM for your teams sake.

was this posted by a covert spurs fan? spurs arent looking to shake things up, but they do this running away before pax sobers up. trading 1 starting/6th man type player (finley) for 3 (chapu, duhon, tyrus)? might as well just engrave the spurs name on the trophy while your at it...

If you throw in Budenholzer I'd really have to consider it.

well, seems not, lol.

Anyway, I'm surprised at the level of homerism, I mean the only real piece Bulls is giving up is Nocioni, Tyrus has a lot of fans but he doesn't play and he doesn't hold much value, Duhon is hated by everybody and Gray is nothing more than a project (and IMHO, not a very good one). If you pay attention I don't even consider Horry (I had to add him to make the trade work, yet he's 10 times better than Duhon and Gray combined) and even tho Nocioni is better than each and every other player involved, it's a pretty balanced trade. Vaughn is better than Duhon and more suitable to Bulls needs, Elson owns Gray, Bonner is better than Tyrus, at least in several aspects (sorry homers) and getting a trustable long range shooter AND a leader (both things Bulls don't have) doesn't look too shabby. Add to that cap relief and the chance to keep the best players to make "superstar like" deals and it makes sense for me. Think about it: Deng, BG, BW, Kirk, Noah, Smith... enough to land a Gasol or a T-Mac or maybe even a Kobe

I understand a Manu for Khryapa and a 2nd rounder trade would look way better and MAYBE Sho'nuff would show a higher friendship level :P , but it's unrealistic.

Funny thing in this trade is I'm pretty sure that you could change Nocioni for Gordon, Wallace or Hinrich and Spurs wouldn't take it. So it's not a "Spurs sided" trade, but a trade where Spurs gets the only player (outside maybe Deng) they could be interested in making a trade for.

Anyway, back to my "no trade thread status" :P

Well from the sounds of it, you're saying SA is getting a horrible trade. All 5 players you mentioned the Bulls could pick up in FA for the cost of Duhons current contract. Go to the general board and post Tyrus for Bonner, and lets see how many you're an idiot posts you get. It's like saying would Golden State trade Brandon Wright for Bonner. Im pretty sure the Bulls would go after Gasol with those same players rather than bonner. We didn't even lose contracts in this deal, we still have Ben Wallace. I could list 50 things wrong on this trade, and 0 for SA.

I don't see why the Bulls would make this trade. Ignore what we are giving up.

Let's pretend you just added those 5 players to our current team. Do you think any of them would even see the court? I mean we're not getting back anyone who is better htan the players we have at any position on the court.
