..letssay we some how can pull of a trade for Amare Stoudamire without giving up Deng. Would the Bulls become formidable like Dwight Howard and Rashard Lewis?

I'll mull this over when time frees up. Sit tight until then and wait for my instructions.

Amare is not as good as Dwight but overall, I think we would be as good as Magic if not better.

I think Dwight + Lewis is still better than Amare/Deng - if that happens.

I do kind of hate how big of a baby Amare is. Also, I do not know how he would be in a strictly half court setting. I would definately accpet him in a trade but we would have to keep Deng.

Besides the obvious how question, the Magic also have Nelson-Hedo two good role guys, and people like Bogans/Evans. The Bulls depth would have to be affected for a move like that. But I would take Amare and Deng over Lewis and Howard on contracts alone.

Lewis is already on his 9th season in the league and, I'm basing this on my limited time watching him the last few years, Lewis is becoming more one dimensional in his game as he gets older.

I see Lewis in a few years being the next Robert Horry. Once had a game that had him moving around off the ball, occasionally working out the post with above average athleticism who recedes into a good role player and three point gunner from the PF spot. I guess Lewis better hope he hooks on with a contender and gets the chance to make his name as a big shot artist.

To answer the OP, I think right now Howard/Lewis are the better combo but Amare/Deng would have a lot of good years to grow together.

Why are scrubs like Bogans and Evans being brought up in a discussion about Lewis/Howard vs Amare/Deng.

His question had nothing to do with depth.

Howard is going to continue to get better, which is really scary. I think the Howard/Lewis combo would be better, because of Howard.

Whoa, the next Horry? That's a bit harsh. I mean Lewis is a bonafide scorer. Robert Horry's best offensive season was when he averaged 12 ppg. That would be Lewis' third worst.

But about Amare, I actually think we could acquire him. We know that Kerr loves a lot of our players. He thinks Hinrich is like Nash. He loves Sefolosha. He loves Noce. He thinks Deng is going to be a star. I believe he also likes Thomas.

If Amare were to be available, I think any Deng deal would be close to getting it to work. I would also think that a Hinrich-Thomas offer would be extremely competitive.

I would pick Hinrich and Thomas up, drop them off at the airport and carry their bags to the plane myself if those two would net Amare.

I don't know, let's trade for him and find out.

Here are a couple Amare Trades that work financially

Suns Trade: Amare and Diaw

Bulls Trade: Deng, Wallace, Khryapa, 1st

To sweeten this we could take Banks and Marks for Duhon and Griffin. Banks would be a better fit for us, and Duhon would probably be a better fit for them plus is an expiring contract.

Bulls Trade: Hinrich, Thomas, Khryapa
Suns Trade: Amare

Bulls Trade: Thomas, Sefolosha, Noce, Khryapa, Griffin
Suns Trade: Stoudamire and Strawberry

Lot's of workable options here.

Amare is a nice player, but Nash makes his life easy... His numbers are not coming from the low block..

Furthermore, he's not a paint changer like Dwight.. The board work and shot blocking is not the same..

Suns won't take on both Deng and Wallace. Because one has a contract they wouldn't touch and other wants an extension for max money. And Sarver is the cheapest in the NBA even more than JR.

Anyways I would definitely would want a Amare and Deng combo.

Nash definitely makes life easier, but I've heard a ton of people say that Nash made Amare.

The year before Nash came, Amare averaged:

20.6 ppg, 9 rpg, 1.4 apg, 1.2 spg, 1.6 bpg, 47% FG, 36.8 mpg

This year:

22.5, 9.2 rpg, 1.2 apg, 0.7 spg, 2.2 bpg, 57%, 31.7 mpg

Obviously Nash helps him shoot at a higher percentage and is getting him similar numbers in about 5 less minutes, but part of this can be contributed to Amare just getting better as he matures. But either way, he definitely was established before Nash came.

But I agree, Dwight is much better.

that's exactly correct; a top tier pg makes any reasonably talented big near all-star. that stated, i think howard's a helluva talent, but until the magic get a bona fide pg, he's going to pretty much remain where's at; dangerous enough to respect, but not close enough to contend. he's at the mercy of whomever is delivering him the ball.

lewis is a nice player, but his contract and his overall game will never be equitable, and i suspect may drag the team down trying to add quality to their roster. 100 million dollar ballers are few and far between, and he's not even in the same breath as a garnett.

I think they would. You're forgetting that Diaw and Banks are making a ton of money.

Next season:
Amare will make: $15 mill
Diaw: $9 mill
Banks: $4.2 mill

Wallace: $14.5 mill (declining contract and shorter than both Amare and Diaw)
Deng: Probably around $10 mill
Duhon: Expiring

This really won't put a financial strain on them, and if anything they'll probably save a few million.

I'm a huge Suns fan and beleive me when I say this but Amare could be avg sick numbers if it wasen't for the stupid system we run. There are times when Amare goes about 4-6 minutes without a shot attempt but yet he is stil avg 22 ppg.

Now the question in hand is wheter we would trade Amare to you guys for the players you said? the answer is heck no! but if there's a third team that could bring us a Tyson Chandler type of player the Suns might and that is a huge might do it. Personally I don't want the Suns to trade Amare becouse offensively he is much better than Dwight Howard. Amare can shot from 18ft consistantly is quicker than most fowards and evenhought he dosen't have the explosiveness that he use have before the pre-macrufacture sergury, he still is can jump out of the gym.

Now defensively Dwight Howards is bound and leaps better than Amare. Howard is a better rebounder, defender and shot bloker than Amare but STAT has the ability to become a Ben Wallace defender when he was whit the Piston. Aill in all, Amare needs to be the focal point in the Suns offense plain and simple if we really want to win the title.

Would you guys do a Boris Diaw(4.5 mil) and Atlanta's pick for Jokiim Noah and Sefalosha??

Amare would be an interesting fit in CHI-town. No way in hell he becomes what Big Ben was in DET, but he's a great shot-blocker.

But IF he were available, PHX would probably want a great big man in return, something you guys are lacking.
