Does Tyrus Thomas have a dark side?

I'd like to preface this post by saying that Tyrus is my favorite player in the league.
But doesn't anyone here think that he may have some serious issues that are preventing him from getting the minutes necessary to develop a player of his potential and rawness?
Reasons why I believe there is something going on that we don't know about:
- He was given the starting spot to start the season, but lost it.
- Sam Smith frequently writes that he's a horrible human being. Yet, he went against his own agenda to propose that Thomas get more time because it just seems like the logical thing to do.
- There was work ethic questions that arose after he was drafted.
- Scott Skiles constantly questioned his work ethic and his effort during games.
- The "Free Money" quote, a spectacularly bizarre and disinterested comment.
- The fact that he was the second pick in a draft and still can't get any tick despite his high PER towards the second-half of last season.
- Reports of the Bulls trying to unload him.
- His lack of intensity during warm-ups, and his lack of focus in some games.
Isn't there a chance that there is something internal going on that is preventing Ty Thomas from getting a real shot? Is Tyrus preventing himself from getting a real shot? Isn't it illogical to assume total incompetence on the part of the coaching staff?
I just feel like there is something we're missing here. A horrible attitude, a screw loose, slept with someone important's daughter? Or he just hasn't played well and can't get minutes because he's not any good (yet). I think his play has been poor in limited minutes, but he is a project of high import. Giving him minutes would surely please Paxson, a thought which must've crossed the minds of Scooter and Jimbo.
Anyway, my hypothesis is crazy ****, but I hope we fix it and give him a little leeway because I really like the guy.
