Its about the middle of the season now, so who do you guys think should be deserving of the mid-season awards.

MVP - Chris Paul or Dwight Howard (can't decide)
Coach of the Year - Nate McMillan
6th Man of the Year - Manu Ginobili
Defensive Player of the Year - Bruce Bowen
Rookie of the Year - Kevin Durant
Most Improved Player - Chris Kaman
Executive of the Year - Danny Ainge

MVP - Chris Paul...this guy is just sick

Coach of the Year - Doc Rivers

6th Man of the Year - Manu Ginobili is obvious...but sleeper pick: Travis Outlaw

Defensive Player of the Year - Josh Smith

Rookie of the Year - Jamario Moon/Al Horford are actually helping their teams win unlike Durant...but KD will still get it..

Most Improved Player - Brandon Roy...although the stats don't show...he's stepped up as a player/leader

Executive of the Year - Danny Ainge

6th Man of the Year - Ben Gordon (Nobody in the league is averaging 24 a game off the bench, even in 14 games.)

Defensive Player of the Year - Kevin Garnett (Boston is top 5 in every major defensive category)

Rookie of the Year - Kevin Durant

Most Improved Player - Chris Kaman (averaging 18 and 14 with Brand out. Most underrated big man in the league.)

Executive of the Year - Danny Ainge

I don't think Chris Paul will win the MVP for some reason though, regardless of how well he has played. I have a feeling that if the Lakers continue at the rate they are winning, espically now with Bynum down for a lengthy period of time, i think Kobe will get the MVP this year. I hate him, but with the way they have been playing this year, suprising everyone, i think he'll get the nod if they continue their winning pace.

As for defensive player of the year, it has to be either Camby, Dwight Howard or Chandler.

Heck, ill go through the list as well.

MVP: KG or Kobe

Defensive player of the year: Camby, Howard or Chandler

Rookie of the year: Durant or Horford. Horford has a good chance if the Hawks make it to the playoffs.

6th man: Manu by a long shot, just because they are a winning team.

Most Improved: Kaman. It has to be him, he has improved leaps and bounds. Something none of our players have done.

Coach of the Year: Nate McMillan. Considering how young the team is, and how much they've over-achieved.

Executive of the Year: Ainge. I hate him to death, but who else could it be?

MVP: Lebron hands down. In all of the six games he missed, the Cavs lost by ten or more. With him, they're 22-12. He's singlehandedly won at least six games for them. No one else on the Cavs is playing well this season, many of them are playing quite poorly. He's averaging 30, 7.6, and 7.4, two steals and a block, on 48% from the field. That's ridiculous.

Coach: Gotta go with Nate McMillan. 25-16 for a team without any stars, led by two second year players? 25-16 for a team whose starting lineup includes Joel Przybilla and Steve Blake? 16-7 against the Western Conference? No doubt he's getting everything out of this young team. Images of Skiles three years ago.

6th Man: if we have no problem including Ginobli, he's the clear winner. I think he's one of the best 25 players in the game, and no one else who comes off the bench touches the top 40 or 50. Incredibly efficient and smart.

Rookie: Al Horford. Playing very well--out of position no less--for a playoff contender. Is the 5th option on offense and still averages 9 and 10 by playing hard and using his size. (Hope Durant doesn't get this, despite his superior talent. He's not having a good season, and he's not helping his team win games.)

Defensive Player: Hard to argue with KG, given the Celtics improvement and the fact that Ray Allen, the other new addition, isn't a great defender (he's good though). Doesn't have the D numbers of Josh Smith, but seems more effective at filling up the lane and challenging inside shots (at least in the 3-4 games I've seen each of them play). Plus his intensity and enthusiasm for D rubs off on everyone around him. Definitely not Camby, who like Smith has better numbers than his impact deserves, and definitely not Chandler, who's actually most valuable as a very active offensive rebounder. Maybe next year for Dwight, but he doesn't the leadership qualities that KG does, nor does he have the latter's sheer defensive intelligence.

MIP: Tough to go against Kaman, who seems to have become a new player. (Haven't seen the Clippers play this year, so don't know why exactly his numbers are so improved). I'll go with Turkoglu, though, since he's all of a sudden a great all around player. He's the Magic's crunch time scorer, their first option with less than two minutes on the clock, and he's been driving and passing very well. Check him out next time the Magic are on--he's a completely different player from the stand-around-the-perimeter spot up shooter he was in Sac, SA, and even two years ago on the Magic. He's a little ugly at what he does, but he's really stepping up for the Magic, who are winning a lot more games than the Clippers. Has outplayed Rashard Lewis in the 4-5 games I've seen him play.

Executive: Although KG kind of fell into Ainge's lap, Ray Allen was all his doing, plus Rondo and Glen Davis have been pretty good in role playing roles and both were later draft picks. Add in the fact that he chose Al Jefferson at something like 17th in the draft--and thus the fact that he turned a 17th overall pick and Theo Ratliff into Kevin Garnett--and he's got to deserve this award. Props to Pritchard for drafting Roy and Outlaw after others passed on them and signing some nice players (James Jones, Blake) to reasonable contracts, and shedding Randolph's contract while waiting for Darius Miles' to run out.

although doc and ainge may win coach of year respectively..let's be serious..coach of the year should be Kevin Garnett and exec of the year should be Danny Ainge and Kevin McHale together

Most Improved Player - Chris Kaman (although i think its a bit exaggerated with Brand gone...if brand was here Ronnie Brewer would be getting this award)

Exec of the year: Kevin Pritchard (obviously going to Ainge...laame).

I think the hardest one to decide on is the DPOY. I think alot of people want to go with Josh Smith or Marcus Camby because of the defensive stats but that does not necessarily mean they are good defensive players. For me it was Bruce Bowen because he was long overdue but I forgot about KG (Dont know how I forgot about him).

MVP: Kevin Garnett. If Andrew Bynum didn't just go down for an extended period, which I feel will cost the Lakers a few wins, I might have gone with Kobe Bryant.

Coach of the Year: Glenn "Doc" Rivers.

Rookie of the Year: Kevin Durant.

Most Improved Player: Chris Kaman.

Sixth Man of the Year: Manu Ginobili

Executive of the Year: Danny Ainge. Sending all of those Christmas cards to the McHale household during the nineties finally pays off for Danny.

Defensive Player of the Year: Andres Nocioni. Just wanted to see if you were paying attention.
