Does Thabo allow us to go after Gilbert?

Post#1 » by BULLSrunIT » Thu Jan 24, 2008 6:43 pm

I have been reading a lot of the posts on this board and it seems most people think our biggest problems are a consistent go-to scorer anywhere on the floor (frontcourt or backcourt) and that the team also lacks personality. So I was wondering if the Bulls should consider a sign & trade for Gilbert Arenas in the summer.

I mean he has a tremedous personality which would bring a true star to the Bulls making them exciting to watch. He is an undersized 2-guard similar to BG and Hinrich, but with the emergence of Thabo I think a Gilbert-Thabo backcourt would be very productive because Thabo can handle the point on offense and the 2 on defense. Plus Gilbert is a better scorer than any of our guards and gets to line way more.

So i was thinking that maybe a Kirk & Tyrus S&T for Gilbert might work.

My question is how successful would a Thabo-Arenas backcourt be? Should this be an option for us? and if so what should we offer?
