If the rumors are true

Post#1 » by cars4978 » Wed Jul 1, 2009 5:00 pm

So the rumors right now are the beliefs that the Pistons will get Gordon and Villanueva. My real question is, well, why do they want these guys? And what's the effect on the Bulls rotation?

I understand their need for a scorer, but that effectively puts either Rip or Ben coming off the bench with a huge salary. Neither Charlie nor Ben are outstanding defenders. Both have questionable handles. Detroit immediately moves to a chuck it from downtown team. Is this really a great move for them?

As for us, does that mean that our starting rotation is going to be Rose, Salmons, Deng, Tyrus, Noah? With key bench minutes from Kirk, Johnson, Miller, Gibson? Is that a playoff contending team?

I'm really not for keeping Ben, I think he wants to much money. And as great of a scorer as he is, and as much as we need someone to score for us, it kills us defensively. In a playoff series against a team like Orlando, who will guard Vince? Or Kobe in LA? In the playoffs the game moves to a half court set for the most part. Could we really defend with that team?

Is this a year of a half step back for 2 steps forward down the line?

We have 2 major threads at the top of this page discussing the same thing. There is no need to start another thread.

Post your thoughts in either or both of the others
