2010 MLB Draft

Post#1 » by TNBT » Tue Jun 8, 2010 7:45 pm

We took Chris Sale, a left-handed pitcher, in the 1st round at #13.

Now I don't know a huge amount about baseball, so I wanted to get your opinions on this kid, how good he will be, whether he was a good pick and what areas you think we need to look at most. I haven't read anything about the following rounds, so feel free to add updates on who else we pick up.

Bastards taking him right before the Brewers. His mechanics scream arm injury, but he's one of the top pitchers in the draft.

Finally! Someone actually replies! And he's not even a White Sox fan.

Thanks for posting the link. Chris sounds like a good prospect. I just went to the minor league site but they did not have any stats on him yet.

Scouting reports: List him as a three pitch pitcher with a sinking fastball as the primary weapon around 92. In addition his slider is around 88 and a change up 82. Has good arm action and lands well with average command..

Areas to improve on he occasionally overthrows, opens up and loses delivery. In addition he needs to continue developing downhill plane on all pitches.
