Question here.
Why did the Sox choose Contreras as their #1 starter. I thought Buehrle was much better than him?

Well they both sucked last year, MB sucked a little more though.

Because when Contreras is on, he's their best pitcher by far. Only reason why he wasn't Opening Day starter last year was because Buehrle was still "good" and many fans would be pissed with the decision if it was last year.

After seeing how badly Buehrle sucked last year, Ozzie named Contreras the #1 pitcher almost immediately. Buehrle is now the #3.

Contreras much more dominant than Buerhle last couple of years. It's not like they let him pitch on a whim, he earned that spot.

I think he has the best stuff. The problem is he has absolutely no endurance. Last year it was a guaranteed shelling when he entered 5th and 6th.

He had one of the best eras in baseball the first 4 innings.

yeah, and ozzie always left him in till the 6th after he gave up 5 runs in the 5th, and 4 more in the 6th.
