Jose Contreras, RHP (0-1, 63.00) vs. Rich Harden, RHP (1-0, 0.00)
Jon Garland, RHP (0-0, 8.44) vs. Chad Gaudin, RHP (0-0, 3.60)
Mark Buehrle Questionable, LHP (0-0, 6.75) vs. Joe Kennedy, LHP (0-1, 1.50)
Good starts from Vasquez and Danks this weekend. The top 3 starters need to get with the program. A good showing can put us at/over .500 in this early season.

I really thought there were more WS fans than Cubs fans on RealGM.

I'm pretty sure about 90% of the Bulls forum are Cubs fans.
That's ok tho, just leaves less "garbage" threads to sift through.

yeah, the cubs haven't won in like 200 years, sox just won one, and you still see 100-1 cub to sox fan. Amazing. I mean, the cubs haven't even had a winning playoff series in 200 years.

Good win tonight! Good offense, good defense, good pitching.

If your guys' pitching gets going (as it has been the last few games), you guys will be a real scary team in the AL.

This is excellent. The last 4 games reminds me of the playoffs in 2005. Well not quite as good but the starters seem to be feeding off each other well right now. Bullpen has been super!!!
A win in Oakland is always a bonus for this team.

Next time we lose a series, which hopefully won't be for a while. I'm going to jazz up a game thread. Kind of like the threads jackfinn puts together.

Blown saves = not good. This this one of those games that comes back to haunt you when your in a late season division hunt.

I really hate these west coast games. I never get to see them since i am usually in bed. I always wonder how the east coast deal with them since they are even an hour later for them.

Great job by Jon Garland, and decent game overall except for that blown save at the end. I don't see this happening too much in the rest of the season for Bobby Jenks, but these White Sox hitters have to start turning it up a notch. 1 run is not usually going to win you games, so some of these guys have to begin following Scotty Pod's and Juan Uribe's lead.

Agreed. Our lack of ability to move runners over (via bunt or ground ball) has been appalling.
Thome is so inconsistant it makes me want to pull my teeth out. If I am not mistaken, he has 3 hits this season and 2 of them are HRs. The guy can't get situational single to save his life this season.

Who is the other announcer? Is that Don Paul?

wasn't the other announcer black jack? Well, you always have to watch till the end, i turned today's game off down 3-1 in the 5th, and we win 6-3. last night i was sure we'd win, and we blow it in the 9th.

No it wasn't Don Paul it was some guy I haven't heard of. Don Paul was over at my house a couple of weeks ago...he lives in my town.

Good series. We probably should have swept them, which is really saying something when going to Oakland. The starting pitching is coming around after all.
