CHICAGO - Prior to tonight's game vs. the New York Yankees, the Chicago White Sox placed third baseman Joe Crede on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to June 5) with lower back inflammation and recalled third baseman Josh Fields from Class AAA Charlotte.

Maybe we should just play our entire AAA Charlotte team the rest of the season. :banghead:

No doubt but this is a move Ive waited to see. I really like Fields. I hope he plays well enough to stay for good.

If Crede's gone, I;m gone w/ him, same for Mark and JD... Kenny Williams is on thin ice this offseason

Thin ice? Far from it. Williams is in no danger what-so-ever. He won a WS two seasons ago and has been building the farm system for a situation just like this.

I love Crede too, but if we are going to have a youth movement there is no reason for him to stay. Fields has been our top prospect for about 3 seasons now. It's about time he step up and have a chance to fill his potential.

Sorry, but this isn't 2005 and this is a LOSING ballclub right now. JD and Crede aren't going to slug our way out of this slump... especially from the DL.

I love all these guys as well. They brought us a championship. These are names that will never be forgotten.

But that was then.. This is a what have you done for me lately business. Especially when contracts are expiring.

The sox are paying all these guys right now and we are NOT winning. So you want to pay them more money and not win?

Maybe they will come back to form and maybe they wont. I think the sox should get as much talent for these players as they can. Out team looks really old and slow right now. We need speed and athleticism as well as pitching. We given our top prospects a chance now and none of them seem to want to seize a job so we need to get some new blood.

It was a great ride while it lasted but its time to rebuild this baby.

Couldn't agree with you more.
