Game 1: Cards@Reds

Post#1 » by el loco » Mon Apr 5, 2010 6:24 pm

Chris Carpenter has looked good for the Cardinals, he has only given up 2 hits through 4 innings and both of those came off of the bat of Joey Votto (one was a home run). Harrang, on the other hand, continues to pitch like a bust. Ever since he signed that crazy long term contract, he has pitched like crap.

Rolen just hit a home run. It is still 3-2 Cardinals entering the 5th inning.

Well, the Reds managed to make a game of it until the top of the 9th when Masset came in and managed to give up 5 runs, 4 of those came off of a grand slam.

Joey Votto had a nice day at the plate and in the field for the Reds, and rookie pitcher Logan Ondrusek looked good in the 8th inning. He is 6'8" tall and can bring it to the plate around 95 mph, which is a bit deceiving because by the time he lets go of the pitch with those long legs, it really looks like he brings it quicker than that. Drew Stubbs continues to show me that he should be the starting center fielder of this team.

Final score: Cards 11 Reds 6
