Dusty Baker Hired as Manager

Post#1 » by kingofthecourt67 » Sun Oct 14, 2007 5:50 am

Things don't seem too positive about this hiring if you go to the general board. Honestly, I don't know much about his managing style. I guess time will tll ow things work out. I just hope he knows how to handle our young guys because the people on the general board claim that Homer Bailey is going to have problems under Dusty.

well Dusty isn't known for treating young pitchers carefully... he is blamed for overusing Prior & Wood in Chicago and contributing to their arm problems

gahhh that is not good. I really hope he doesn't mess up Bailey. Hopefully, we'll set up some sort of maximum number of pitches that he can throw.

Your also forgetting what he says on the offensive end. He doesn't like players taking walks because they clog up the basepaths. Adam Dunn is going to set a strikeout record this year.

I think Dunn might be leading the league in Walks so far in this just started young season. He might lead the league in both if he keeps going at this pace.

I don't like the way Dusty ruins young arms with all the innings he runs them for, but I like that he is willing to go with youth. It is kind of a double edged sword.
