Cincinnati 14-21 at New York 17-15

First Pitch: 7:10 pm EDT

Pitching Matchup:
Reds: Matt Belisle 1-2, 6.91 ERA
Mets: Mike Pelfrey 2-2, 5.27 ERA

Belisle has looked bad in a couple of his starts and really hasn't given us anything better then Fogg was if that is possible.

The right-hander allowed two runs and scattered eight hits in 5 1-3 innings of a 9-1 loss at Atlanta on Saturday. That came after he struggled in his first two outings, going 1-1 while giving up 11 runs and 17 hits in nine innings. Belisle is 0-0 with a 3.86 ERA in three appearances

Does it seem like we have been playing a pretty tough schedule so far this year? It does to me.

Belisle, Arroyo to start day-night twin bill
Cincinnati (14-21) at New York (17-15), Sat., 1:10, 7:30 p.m. ET

NEW YORK -- Reds manager Dusty Baker chose to leave his pitching plans in the same order he had them when rain washed out Friday night's game against the Mets at Shea Stadium.
The game was called shortly after 8 p.m. ET and rescheduled as a day-night doubleheader on Saturday. The first game is scheduled to begin at 1:10 p.m., while the second contest is on tap for 7:30 p.m.

"Just keep it like it is," said Baker, who will send Friday's scheduled starter, Matt Belisle, to the mound in Game 1 against left-hander Johan Santana, who was slated to start Saturday.

If we don't perform well in this series, we could find ourselves 10 games below .500 which seems like way too deep a whole to dig out of to make the playoffs.

I agree, which is difficult to think about so early in the year but it is the truth. We are right there fighting for the worst record in baseball. The Padres have really dropped off this year and are right there with us.

Well, we got the split in game 2. Game 1 was terrible, Belisle just doesn't have good stuff right now, and I am questioning if he ever will. In game 2 Arroyo was great 8 innings, 9 K's and only 1 run. Keppinger went 5/5 in the game.

Game 1: 12-6 them
Game 2: 7-1 us
Game 3: is the rubber game.

Arroyo was really encouraging last night and he really needed a start like that.

Our offense is stagnating again today after a couple of encouraging games. Votto striking out with 2 runners on base I think will be huge.

Yeah, we have managed to get one hit through 5 innings. It's not surprising that Keppinger is the person that got it. Cueto got roughed up again. At least we aren't going to get swept.

I was late on a making a thread for it. Heck with it now. It isn't worth the effort. The Reds are trailing 6-1 with a little rally in the 6th, 2 outs and a runner on 3rd with Keppinger up to bat. Griffey walked, Edwin doubled, and Dunn hit a sac fly to drive Jr. in. Keppinger got a hit to drive Edwin in. 6-2 in the top of the 6th, maybe it isn't over yet after all. Keppinger is on 3rd after the triple with Bako up to bat. Keppinger scores on a wild pitch, 6-3 now and still the top of the 6th. Bako lines out to end the rally.
