Cincinnati (21-24) at Los Angeles (23-21)
First Pitch: 10:10 pm EDT
Pitching Matchup:
Dodgers: Billingsley (3-5, 4.34 ERA)
Reds: Matt Belisle (1-3, 7.45)
Anytime Belisle gets the start it is a scary situation for the Reds IMO.
Belisle is 0-1 with a 12.54 ERA in one start and five relief appearances against Los Angeles. He labored through four innings against the Dodgers in his first start of the season, giving up seven runs - five earned - and 12 hits in a 9-3 loss.

Yeah, and the defense has played horribly behind Belisle so far.

He's actually pitched a decent game tonight. He is in the 5th and has only given up 2 runs. The problem is we don't have any runs and only 3 hits. I am not sure I will make it to the end of it, these west coast games end to late in the eastern time zone. But, I will stick around and watch the top of the 6th. Patterson, Janish, and Griffey are due up.
Griffey has 1 of the 3 hits and Ross has the other 2.

Patterson led off with a single and then stole 2nd. 1-1 count on Janish, pronounced yawnish, he moved Patterson to 3rd, nice at bat.
Griffey is up and way overdue, at this pace he might retire short of 600 round baggers. 3-0 count, 3-1 count (took all the way), ball 4.
1st and 3rd one out and Phillips is up. Go ahead run is at the plate. 0-1 count (Phillips is 0-5 in his career against Billingsly). 1-1 count, double play to end the inning
I have seen enough. I will read about it in the papers.

I'm actually in California, so I'm able to watched this game.
That double play was a killer, the Reds just don't want to win on the road apparently.

I wanted to add that this is the second game I have seen Janish play in and I must confess he is impressive in the field. He has nice range, a good glove, and a decent arm from what little I have seen of him.

I don't think we have beat the Dodgers yet this season. They got us twice in Cincy. If Belisle doesn't get this guy out, Dusty needs to go get him. Nice play by Phillips to save a run.

About the road games, we have played like 10 more road games then either the Cubs or the Cards, which are two teams we are chasing, so this should be a blessing later on down the road if we can stay somewhat hot.

We split with the Dodgers actually back in Cinci.

I wasn't sure, so it must have been the Astro's that took 2 from us. Either way it isn't looking to good tonight, which is a shame because Belisle has pitched good enough to get a win on most nights.

Right after I give the rookie a compliment for his glove he goes and tanks a grounder, it never fails. I guess that is like jinxing a guy shooting a free throw in basketball.

Bray came in and laid a turd, who is Dusty calling for now. Burton, man we are going to wear his arm out by the all-star break. He is our most used reliever.

6-2 in the last 8 isn't that bad. It looks like we will face getting swept once again tomorrow. Cueto will be on the mound and his last couple of starts have been shaky. Hopefully he gets back on track tomorrow. One last chance in this one.
