Move was necessary after 18-inning game vs. Padres
By Brandon Harris / MLB.com

CINCINNATI -- After using two starters to help in relief during an 18-inning loss to the Padres on Sunday, the Reds have changed their rotation order.
Bronson Arroyo, originally slated to start in the series opener against the Braves on Friday, will instead get the start on Wednesday against the Pirates. Arroyo was used as a pinch-hitter on Sunday, but never pitched.

He replaces Aaron Harang, who pitched four innings in relief, giving up no runs on two hits with a walk and nine strikeouts.

Harang will start on Thursday in the series finale with the Pirates.

Good idea by the Reds. But it didn't work out for them.
