Well, it is 2-2 in the bottom of the 8th. Volquez pitched well enough to get a win, but we have only managed 5 hits as a team.
I don't no how much longer we can continue to pencil Griffey into the number 3 hole in the batting order. Once again is having an 0fer night 0-4 at the moment.
Hairston is a good leadoff man.
Bruce is 3-4 tonight and a great guy to bat second
Votto should be hitting 3rd
Phillips 4th
Dunn 5th at the moment
Griffey 6th
Edwin 7th
8th to whoever is catching
I have been a big fan of Jr. for several years now, but he is slumping so bad this season. I think the years have caught up to him. I think this team needs to ask him where he wants to finish up his career and make the move to accomodate him. I think baseball owes him that much for what he has done for the game in an admirable way. When Bonds was Griffey's age he was hitting 73 home runs and not looking on the down side of things. Griffey did things the right way and he gets little to no appreciation for it. But, the time has come in Cincy to go with the youth movement IMO.
It is the 9th inning Burton is on the mound. We could be looking at another extra innings game tonight.

Team Report
Yeah, Griffey has been hitting in the clutch in the past few games. It would be nice if he catches one his grooves and carries the team for a week or two with his bat. But, at the moment he is due to miss his second straight game, no major injury, just a bit sore according to what Dusty said about him.
