Pitching Matchup
RHP- Image Javier Vasquez(1-0, 0.00 ERA)

Scouting Report:
White Sox: The 6 2/3 innings by Vazquez during Saturday?s 3-0 victory over the Twins was one less inning than Jose Contreras, Jon Garland and Mark Buehrle worked combined over the first three games. Vazquez struck out five and walked four, allowing just one hit, throwing 65 of his 102 pitches for strikes. Vazquez has a 3-2 career record with a 4.13 ERA against the Indians, and has a 2-1 mark with a 3.46 ERA over four starts made at Jacobs Field.

RHP- Image Fausto Carmona(0-0, 0.00 ERA)

Indians: For the second April in a row, Carmona will find himself filling in for an injured member of the Tribe rotation, as Cliff Lee's abdominal injury opened up the door for him to break camp with the big-league club. Carmona endured a rollercoaster '06 in which he dominated in the setup role, fell apart as the closer in the wake of the Bob Wickman trade and put himself back together with four encouraging September starts. Carmona has wicked raw stuff that includes a 97-mph sinking fastball, but he sometimes struggles to keep his tempo in check and his pitches down in the zone. He hasn't pitched in a game since an April 3 exhibition for Class A Lake County, against Double-A Akron, so rust might be an issue.

Saturday, April 14
LHP- John Danks vs RHP- Paul Byrd
Sunday, April 15
RHP- Jose Contreras vs LHP- CC Sabathia

I'll be at the game on Saturday in Jacobs Field. For those of you that plan on going. The gametime has been changed from 7:05pm to 1:05pm EST. Thus done to avoid chilling temperatures and more delays. Oh and I'm winning the 10 grand handout envelope thing. So don't bother accepting your envelopes.

Carmona did okay, made two big mistakes and the WhiteSox made him pay. We'd be right in this game if Hafner and Nixon didn't strike out with the bases loaded. Nixon was just a hair early the pitch before too, would have been a grand salami. Hopefully the bats pick up soon.

Fausto was awful, just like last year... He's not a pitcher, he's a thrower who just tries to blow it by everyone... No control at all...

On another note, the inability to actually get a guy in from 3rd with less than 2 outs is so damn frustrating... Again, no power = hard to score for this club...

Excellent victory today... Nice to have a pitcher on the mound that was able to work the corners, and setup a hitter as opposed to whatever Fausto does out there...

Get back soon Cliff, I can't take anymore Fausto (and it was just one game)

Got back from Cleveland early this morning. I had a blast. My girlfriend caught a foulball off of Grady's bat and it made her day. Which was really cool, because she suprised me with tickets to the Cavs/Hawks game last night. So instead of leaving after the Tribe game, we spent the night in Cleveland. To top it all off the home team won both games. I missed the first couple innings of todays game, but it looks like CC had his A game going on. Kind of wierd to see us win a game that the team only had 1 hit. Won't see that too often, but I'll take it. Tribe wins another series, now we head off to face the Evil Empire of NY. Death to the Yankmees.

Return to Cleveland Indians
