You need to start hating more Cleveland sports figures.
First Drew.
Then Fausto.
Please start hating on any and all of the Browns, it can only help.
;)

I knew the Fausto we saw last year wasnt anywhere close to his actual potential, but I seriously have to admit that I didnt expect him to be anywhere close to this good. His pitches have some major movement and not only that but he is showing lots of smarts out there. Completely different pitcher then we saw last year.

It's just too bad we don't face Baltimore the rest of the year. I don't want to trade a starting pitcher to keep him on the team, especially how we seem to be losing guys right now. But there has to be a spot in the pen somewhere for him when Westbrook gets back. This is a great problem to have though, alot of teams wish they had some more starting pitchers right now. Here's a great quote from one of the Orioles hitters.

"He had great stuff in Cleveland," Baltimore's Aubrey Huff said. "You think, 'OK, he just had great stuff that day.' Today, he came out and did the same exact thing. I don't care what team you are. If he's throwing balls like that -- keeping it down with that much sink (and) throwing 94 -- I don't know many teams that can handle that."

Sorry, BMac.. I always though Frye sucked, but I don't think there's help for him..

LTC-

Maybe we won't have to send Fausto down.. He's been excellent, and if he becomes consistent, I'd say Sowers is the guy that gets the demotion.. He's been less than stellar...

Yeah I really hope that Fausto doesnt have to go down cause he is really pitching well so far I want to see if he can keep it up. Another possiblitity that I could see happening in a couple months would be to trade either Byrd, Lee, or Westbrook for a big bat at first or one of the corner outfield positions and then Carmona can stay up. This is defiantly a good problem to have though.

Carmona is going to have to keep proving himself. He looks great so far, but so did Sowers last year and he's been less then stellar so far this year. Who knows we may have another injury by the time Jake comes back. Too much starting pitching is never a bad thing and this is a great problem to have.

I would say you're right on that. Fausto just pitched another gem today to help stop our losing skid. 7 strong innings after getting roughed up in the first inning. Held them scoreless the rest of the way to improve to 4-1 on the year and has a 3.12 ERA too. He did have 4 walks today, but it didnt hurt him any. I think he had his most K's for the season too with 5. Sowers on the other hand is getting roughed up pretty bad.

Fausto is a beast. I don't understand why we sent him down in the first place. No way do we have 4 starters that are better than him. At the moment, I'm not positive we have 1 starter better than him.

I enjoy reading what the opposing players have to say after the games. Here's what Torii Hunter had to say.

Fausto Carmona's sinker dropped, it dipped, it dived, and it devastated the Minnesota Twins.

"It's not normal," Torii Hunter said of Carmona's go-to pitch. "He's not even human. It was so scary, I thought I was hung over."

"That dude is filthy," Hunter said. "We've been struggling, but even if we had been playing good, we wouldn't have beaten him. If you've never played the game, listen to me, I'm a hitter. Right-handers have no chance unless they get lucky and get a hit on a broken bat."

"I couldn't believe it when they sent him down," Hunter said. "Everyone in the league was saying, "Did you see Carmona got sent down?"

He pitched a shutout through 8 yesterday, and what's even more remarkable to me is that this kid is making peanuts this year.

What impresses me more than anything is just how mentally strong he is.. He went through one of the worst stints a pitcher could eve imagine last year.. He started out rocky this season.. And even between a bad start or two, he's capable of bouncing back...

It seems like only the special ones can take on a major burden, and overcome it... He certainly has thus far... I personally feel he's been the best story on the Tribe all season..

He's went from a guy that I could not stand watching, to absolutely love watching... He actually pitches now instead of just throwing hard.. He's mastered his sinker, and works it beautifully....

If Lee and Westbrook would get their act together we would have the best pitching rotation in the big leagues.. Nobody could throw out a 5 man unit like that..

Ahh How I love reliving L&H's mean mean words about Fausto. It is remarkable to think just how bad Fausto was last year and how well he's turned it around. The kid always had great stuff which was what made his potential exciting.

That last point brings me to Cabrera. The guy has flat out nasty stuff, but just hasnt quite put it together yet. I sure would hate to lose him and have him turn it around somewhere else.

Are you still confessing your fanlove?

Man, and he's been doing this for less than a million a year. We need to make sure we lock him up for a while. He's drastically underpaid for what he did this year.
