The Indians magic number is down to 14.

Last nights win along with Detroits comeback win brings that number down to 13 with 18 games left to play.

How long before people take notice that the Indians are freaking good? Where are the fans at? The attendance still sucks for a contender, and it seems like everyone is just waiting for this team to fall on its face or to get into the playoffs until they start attending.

They have done it a couple times before. I'm believing in them. But I still remember them blowing it 2 years ago.

I don't quite understand that people aren't going to the games. I know that the Cavs run put a bit of a damper on the beginning of the season, but I'd think it would have picked up by now.

I do however marvel at how little attention this team gets in the national media. We've got 2 legitimate Cy Young candidates and could conceivably end the season with the best record in baseball and yet nobody has even noticed.

Cleveland beats the White Sox and the Tigers split a double header extended the Tribes lead in the Central to 6.5 games and shrinking their magic number by 2 down to 11.

these indians are such a well rounded team...such a fun team to watch

it is interesting tho how much more the city cares for the browns than the other two teams (both of whom are worlds better than the browns)

The city had decades of practice.

This team doesn't seem to be as exciting as the mid to late 90's teams either. I do however expect things to pick up in the city for the playoffs (provided something catastrophic doesn't happen). Fact is, this team kinda came out of no where. Each of the last 2 years you could see progress but the team choked. I guess people didn't want to get emotionally invested this year until they saw how the team would do.

The Indians have pretty much wrapped up the division with the Detroit Tigers being back 5.5 games. Tonight they have off but they start a series against the Kansas City Royals, C.C. Sabathia is throwing the first game of the series.

Both Cleveland and Detroit won, so the Indians magic number for winning the division is down to 10. The Angels also lost and it looks like the Red Sox might lose as well. That gets the Tribe closer to actually having the best record in baseball. Cleveland and LAA are now tied for the second best record.

The Tribe, Red Sox and Tigers all win and it looks like the Angels will as well. That means the Indians have decreased their magic number to 9 (either Indians wins or Tigers losses) to win the division. But, that also helps the Tigers in trying to get the wild card. They seem to be playing pretty well right now, but then so are the Indians. I just don't want that Tigers series to matter at all.

Blake with the walk off homer in the 11th to take 2 off the Tribes magic number.

The Indians only need a combination of 7 Indians wins or Tigers losses to guarantee the playoffs. The Sox also lost so the Indians are only 1.5 games behind.

Travis Hafner just hit a homeruns to tie the ball game up. I think if the Indians can get Verlander out, they would be in good shape for the win.

I'm pretty sure the Indians scored all their runs on Verlander (via the long ball).

Indians win again, that brings the magic number down to 5 and the Indians are within 1/2 game of being tied for best record with Boston.

Cleveland has got to be the least publicized good baseball team in the majors. Nobody is talking about them and they might end up with the best record in baseball.

The Indians complete the sweep of Detroit and CC gets his 18th win.

The Indians magic number is down to 3 and the Indians could leapfrog the Red Sox for the best record in MLB if the Sox lose.

Indians win, magic number shrinks to 2 (Detroit won as well)

Now Carmona is 18-8

The Yankees are losing in extra innings, and the Angels are losing in the 6th 4-0 right now. If they lose the Indians have the best record in baseball by half a game and they 'd have several games lead over the Yankees.
